🐾 Planet Zoo - Update 1.9 coming 12 April 🐾

Yeah. 1.9, I'm excited about mostly for the springs, guest mode, and the roaming educators (like making a walking tour, instead of just using vehicles and podiums).

And since we have a little add-on to exhibits, I'm kinda hoping that this'll eventually lead to educators handling small animals like in real-life (picture an educator handling a Mexican tarantula, or an emperor scorpion, or even a boa constrictor)

especially hot springs I don't see me use often. I can so far only think of two animals (one not even in-game yet) that would realisticly use those and from a zoo standpoint, they aren't very common (hot springs I mean, not the animal). An enrichment item would have done it for me, if I'm honest.
I think, if I read it correctly the hot springs are just a possible example of the new bathing behavior and not the feature itself. I can see bathing having a much larger potential, being able to be applied to multiple animals like elephants, tapirs, etc.

What we had before with water interaction with animals was simply traversing the water, I hope bathing is an extension to that so that animals also use water for other stuff; from resting to cooling down. So in that vain, I'm happy it's not an enrichment item really, I hope it's indeed part of a mechanic that extends the aquatic behavior of some animals.

Kind of interesting to see what pack we’ll get? A 4+1 or a animal pack. I seen NicolasLionRider seemed to think the way the pack patterns have been it would be a animal pack. I would be happy with that although either is fine for me personally.

Hmm, okay, I read it like bathing = hot water. If it's bathing behavior in general (also with normal to warm tempered water) it could be more attractive as a feature in the long run, depending on how many and which animals could actually use it. Elephants, Tapirs... but I'm not sure if we should get our hopes up about that just yet.

Totally. I hope that more animals can use this and it ain't of single-species usage

Makes me think if we might get some nice Animations like Elephants spraying Water on their Back while bathing. Wonder what other awesome Bathing Behaviors we might get for the Animals currently in the Game

We need to create a Bathing Database😆

It would be fun to see elephants splashing around in water and using their trunks to squirt water on themselves. And more realistic hippo behavior where they do that thing where they hang out in the water with part of their heads out, wriggling their ears and sometimes opening their mouths. I'd like to see other animals splashing around and playing in the water too, rather than just paddling around or walking through it.

Even if it's just the Macaques with this update maybe we will see more bathing behaviors in future updates, the way they are adding burrows for more animals.

The first time I read the thing about the billboards I thought they meant all the habitat webcams could be paired with billboards in the zoo, which I know has come up on wish lists. But reading it again, it looks like it's just the new small burrows? So yeah, I'm a bit confused about that too.

One Thing I want to mention after looking at the Screenshot again: Frontier, please give us Variations for the Japanese Macaque ._.
I don't tend to agree with that. Just any random screenshot of a group of macaques shows little to no difference.

Variants are cool, and I certainly do think there's still room for some extras (golden tabby tiger, king cheetah, ...), but shouldn't be introduced for the sake of it, especially in animals that you in real life can hardly tell the difference of.
