Summary
System: Synuefe CE-R c21-6​
Station: Heart of Taurus (Megaship, large pads available, 1,230 Ls from main star, 838.48 Ly from Sol)​
Objective: Deliver mined Coltan, Lithium Hydroxide and Methanol Monohydrate Crystals​
Time limit: 7th April 3308 @ 06:00 UTC​

Description
Taurus Mining Ventures has requested help with a mining and delivery operation in the Synuefe CE-R c21-6 system.​

In recent weeks, the mining corporation has performed research on what it claims are atypical radiation signatures detected within Synuefe CE-R c21-6. It now seeks shipments of the system’s native ores to explore commercially valuable applications of any molecular changes caused by this radiation.​

Dr Ruben Carpenter, head of the company’s research division, outlined the initiative:​
I’m very excited to offer pilots this opportunity to support our scientific studies, which will hopefully prove lucrative for all involved. We require coltan, lithium hydroxide and methanol monohydrate crystals to be mined from locations within Synuefe CE-R c21-6 and delivered to the Heart of Taurus megaship.

We will also pay for shipments of the same ores that have been mined from other systems. These will allow us to compare samples, in order to refine our commercial processes.

In addition to credit rewards, Taurus Mining Ventures is offering up to three paintjobs to the top 75% of participants. The number of paintjobs available will be dependent on the Tier reached.​

The faction has set out a seven day campaign, which will end early on Thursday 7th April 3308.​

To be eligible for rewards you must sign up as an active participant before delivering Coltan, Lithium Hydroxide and Methanol Monohydrate Crystals to the megaship Heart of Taurus in the Synuefe CE-R c21-6 system.​
​
Please note that for commodities to count towards your personal contribution total, they must be mined rather than purchased.​
​
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.​

Can't sign up for the CG at the Heart Of Taurus. No mission board on the megaship. (PC, Odyssey, and I restarted the launcher entirely after 1 UTC). Intended? Nevermind, a second restart 30 minutes later and I see it

Closest non-Megaship station: New Growth in Pencil Sector EL-Y d5 (100 Ly away)

Also - Coltan is mined in Rocky or Metal Rich, and the other 2 are mined in Icy, so the Metallic finder won't help here.

Can I mine any where and then move to mega ship for sale?
Yes.. Normaly... The game can not tell system specific items vs other system items... Confirmed they will pay you for them and they will count to Your CG numbers... This avoids having to recode the game to separate the systems content still...

Do hotspots effect these items?
Hot spots have no effect on these mining items collection rate...
Res sites in the Ring DO effect the number of chunks spat out from a high Percentage rock they multiply the number of chunks given per rock...
LOW gives the lowest bonus -- Haz gives the highest chunks bonus this means not having to move to so many rocks to collect the same number of units of materials, increasing collection rate... Once verification that the game still fails to detect non sysetem native materials you should be able to mine in any ICE ring res...

Were is the nearest ICE ring haz res..
The easiest to find confirmed Ice haz res is in the bubble... change the location to your current location on sites...

Can I use my FC?
FC owners can store mined items on ship transfer and still keep the mined tag from the ship... using FC market will erase the Mined flag... You are buying and selling on a market, so mining flag is erased..

Can I share what I mine with others?
Ejecting content to t-bag mined items to other players won't work. The mined tag is destroyed on ejection from cargo hatch...

Can I sign up to CG at any active updated mission board before I get to mega ship ?
Yes...

Which ship would be efficient?
Ship with Class 7 or higher Weapon focused PD along with high class thrusters...

Can I core mine for this CG?
You can core mine if you want but none of the items that count for the CG are found in cores... Bonus money only...

Is not coltan found in rocky rings?
Yep coltan is the odd item out. but the other 2 items are ICE ring exclusive... 2 vs 1 items so you have twice the odds of finding a rock in the ICE ring...

As hot spots don't matter, do I need a DSS for this CG?
Need no. the DSS is not needed. the rings and res sites show with out them...

Are the paint jobs the same as already on the store?
Yep so if you own all 3 you're not getting anything new... if you own none then 3 free new skins.

FYI, noted there's no place to sign up. I'm docked on the Taurus but there's no mission board or anything like that to sign up with.

Very interesting, some reports there is a mission board with the availability to sign up on HoT, then others report they cant sign up because of no mission board on HoT...
Odyssey vs Horizons? PC vs console?

As I am a total noob for mining. Which ship would be efficient?

I guess preferably a Cutter (Taurus has L Landing pad?) With standard Mining Laser equipment and a lot of storage and Collector limpits?

Ok, UPDATE: This is one of those things were "Have you tried turning it off and back on again" seems to be the solution.

If you're already in the game and you land on the HoT, you won't see the mission.

EXIT THE GAME, not sure if it's exit to main menu or to desktop but I went to desktop.

Once back in you'll see the missions board is now available for it.

Cutters, anacondas, corvettes and pythons...
Class 7 or higher Weapon focused PD.along with high class thrusters...

Exit the game to desktop to be safe, then restart. You should see the mission board is now active (that's what I had to do).
You should be able to do this in Odyssey or Horizons as it's just asteroid mining, and PC/console should both work.

For this CG I think I'll go for the first two minerals in icy rings; there's the chance of coming across tritium, LTDs or void opals along the way.

So my small 3 CMDR squadron has been doing CG's by sourcing the goods selling them to my carrier at cost then jumping to the system and I sell the goods back to my wing mates at cost and we each deliver a third. Am I right in thinking that my wing mates cannot use this method for this CG, as selling and then rebuying the minerals will mean they will no longer count as Mined?

Edit: I don't sell to the carrier obviously I just transfer them.

Any use of the FC market erases mined tag,,. so this will not work... they have to mine there own items...
