Headset query

I've been using a Turtle Beach P11 headset for several years now. It still works, although is being held together with duct tape ;)
On the basis it won't last forever, I've tried buying a new headset on two occasions - the first was a Logitech, the second a TB Atlas One. With both of them, the sound on ED was oddly muffled, especially with things like the COVAS and boost. Any other sound (music, YouTube) was fine. I messed around with every setting I could, yet nothing worked. But when I plug the old P11 back in, the sound is perfect.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

If you care for sound quality and want to enjoy listenening to music with the headset (instead of "just" gaming) I'd say stay away from "gaming" brands and products. Gaming headsets have no features that make them "better" for gaming; usually they sound like crap and have a steep markup for the "gaming" tag.

I have no concrete recommendation for a headset, but I would look at known-good Hifi brands like Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic or AKG. They all offer headsets (i.e. headphones with mics), but I have no experience with them. You might also get a decent headphone (personally, I love the AKG 271 Mk.II for its neutrality [edit: by that I mean: It lacks the typical multimedia "bathtub" sound and has no artificial bass boost] and the Beyerdynamic DT-770 for generally being great) and add something like the modmic, although that's a pricy solution.

Check what you have selected in the Options / Audio section in particular what "optimise for" is selected and that DTS Headphone:X option.

I have Bose Quietcomfort and also HyperX Cloud cans and have no issues in EDO or EDH.
