Is true, the exchange rate for the pound is still crap. It's fair to say that recent events haven't changed my expenditure on ARX.
It all went sideways... #SarcasmDoes anybody know if income from ARX to FD has decreased after their announcement of dropping consoles and if so by how much?

Bit of a cryptic answer from a moderator wouldn’t you say? I think thought_admiral had an interesting question. I know I regret having paid real money out for arx over the last year for my Xbox account and I am really angry that those on PC get to upgrade to Odyssey and keep what they have earned and paid for while console players who might choose to purchase Elite on PC in order to be included in the continuing game development, to be clear, development of the same game that PC and console players had been enjoying together, well after being excluded from further development those console players are rightly concerned that they are currently forced to give up everything they have worked on, and everything they have paid for In purchased arx. Again I ask, is there a consumer rights group covering the games industry at all?Frontier knows. Does that answer your question?
I was a bit sarcastic, yes. But it's obvious nobody but fdev knows the answer to that question. And they are definitely not going to share it publicly on the forums.Bit of a cryptic answer from a moderator wouldn’t you say? I think thought_admiral had an interesting question. I suppose thought_admiral was wondering if Fdev’s actions have resulted in a backlash reaction of players not purchasing arx as a form of protest???
Personally I am clinging to a hope that Fdev is true to its word and is trying to find a way through this for console players wishing to transfer. There’s obviously nothing they can do for console players wanting to stay playing on console. Elite development on console is dead and for as long as they allow the servers to serve the console community what remains will be a different game to what moves forward on PC, the latest official livestream just proved that with most of the focus on gameplay being on foot.
I have purchased Elite on PC via Steam (hope that wasn’t a mistake) in the hope that I can transfer my console profile and importantly everything I have earned and PAID FOR over to my new PC account. I WILL NOT BE PURCHSING ANY ARX AT THE MOMENT ( I MEAN I’D BE AN IDIOT TO, RIGHT? ); my console game is now dead in the water with just short of 5 billion credits, a free ship, several ship modules awarded in community events and loads of paint jobs and ship kits I’ve stupidly paid real cash for. My new PC account has me floating aimlessly around the Pilots Federation introductory systems while I’m waiting to find out what is going on.
Players boycotting purchasing further arx might demonstrate further to Fdev (if they need it) the extent of anger in the console community, and such a protest would be all the more strengthened if PC players joined the boycott, but to the console community I would say “don’t hold your breath on that one”, one look at the social media commentators and again citing the recent official livestreams, well its life as normal for most, in fact I sense a lot of secret relief that now we’ve been cut loose they can move on and get on with it. - I work in supporting adjustment and recovery for people after brain injury. I’ve met loads of people over the years who suddenly found themselves friendless after becoming disabled, both physically and cognitively, with friends, colleagues and even family leaving them behind as “life goes on”; playing the game as the game is meant to be played. Of course Elite is just a game isn’t it? Well a business really?? It’s not really fair if I draw an analogy like that is it??? But to me it really does feel like being left behind. The Elite community is truly becoming Elitist. PC gamers are OK and life goes on. Fdev is OK and can move the game forward. Console players? Well we’re the minor factions that no one really gives a ‘second thought’ about (please add your own expletive where appropriate). We can’t move on because we don’t have the ability to move forward with the game any more. We’ve been left behind, deliberately so but lets just focus on the positives eh? Let’s just now move forward with the game. Life goes on.
I know its just a game. I know that there are bigger, REAL, problems in the real world at the moment. But I’m kind of attached to Elite in ways that I imagine most players are not. At least I hope none of you are. I played Elite when it came out on Acorn and BBC computers in the 1980’s. It helped get me through some pretty bad times as a child, sexually abused for five years, this game, played from a cassette tape, was an escape then and a surprising joy when I came across it again all these years later.
I hope Fdev do the right thing by their console players and find a way to keep the community together.
See you in the black CMDRS

You are right of course. I guess I should stop whinging and install Odyssey on my PC, fly my ships in to and out of the bubble, re-buy all the ship kits and paint jobs I had before and start my journey on foot.Nope.
When a moderator is posting in a thread, the cannot moderate that very thread so they're normal forum users, like me and like you.
Why? I really don't get it
Asking because i did buy Arx on both my XB and my Steam/Epic accounts and i dont regret it at all
Buying Arx is a voluntary action - the game is not p2w, with arx you are buying cosmetics - stuff to pimp your ships and please your ego.
The game on XB is not shutting down, so whatever cosmetics you got on XB is still available and usable.
No. It’s a literal, to the point answer. Roots being a mod makes zero difference.Bit of a cryptic answer from a moderator wouldn’t you say?
That question being whether anyone knows? Or that question being what the effect on Arx income has been?I think thought_admiral had an interesting question.

FD knows. That’s the end of the story.

They might be interesting topics for discussion but they’re slightly daft questions. Because obviously the only people that know will be FD and they are not going to say.
