On foot settlement minimap zoom level adjustments, building outlines, building names and "full" map ?

Hello,

The on foot minimap is set to a static range and that range is quite narrow.
This makes navigation of hostile and unknown settlements difficult.

At minimum a way to zoom the minimap in and out would be very useful.

Also the minimap is quite abstract, showing no terrain features nor buildings footprints.
If these were added to the minimap, it would help with navigation of these unknown places.
The minimap should display the names of buildings if known (HAB, PWR, AGRI) as well.

Lastly there could be a button to show a full map of the nearby on foot area

Maps should be on settlement monitor consoles.
If you instantly get a map when you land usable anywhere it feels a bit arcade game easy mode.

But yeah being to see a settlement layout when logged into a console would be useful

The whole thing is nonsense.
The concept of not knowing the layout or not being able to scan the layout is beyond crap.
There should be a proper map display viewable from your suit with objective pins etc.

Infantile game design.

@ebbrell, we currently instantly receive a map on arrival, it can even see where the charge ports are inside of locked buildings
I don't mind only getting a full map after I somehow acquire it (buy it, hack the mainframe whatevs)
Just from a gameplay perspective, we've cleared out two buildings, how to I tell my friend "hey let's go to THAT building"
Coordinates, building names, cardinal directions ? Anything, but please some way to discuss strategy for looting the place without accidentally re-visiting the same already looted buildings again !

how to I tell my friend "hey let's go to THAT building"

Point emote works
Also buildings have names, like pwr, agri, res, ind, sto etc.

Tbh, i never missed maps during settlement play, but i do think that having a map will make the settlement easy play even easier - detracting from the experience instead of adding to it.

The on foot minimap is set to a static range and that range is quite narrow.

the ranges on the mini-map are relevant for detection ranges and important for stealth play.
