Nope...sometime during 2018 was the first time I'd heard of piping, air pressures and flow of room gases etc. There was a video showing how it all worked inside a 3D hab unit with a few sealed or unsealed rooms and external airlocks...and no, I'm not digging it out, just take my word for itPrior to 2015 though?
Edit: Come to think of it, they did add all that nonsense to the PU at one point. I can distinctly remember it didn't work as planned since folk were choking to death in the middle of spaceports in random areas...as well as in ships where the mating together of dodgy physics grids around doors or bulkheads made it appear like they had developed leaks overnight... or the pressure system wasn't recognising the cockpit glass as a physical barrier in certain ships (Constellation sticks in my mind), something like that... It's still there to a certain extent but they had to disable or Sellotape fix most of it.
Before they implemented the basic T-0 room gas system, it used to be commonplace to remove your helmet on board a ship or in a spaceport with no ill effects...after they shoved it in, it was inviting a death sentence to take it off... especially in a supposedly safe, pressurised environment
