Dominion Microceratus

Fangoria, an American fan magazine, will be publishing new magazine issues soon, and one of those topics will be a behind the scenes on Jurassic World: Dominion's animatronics. Jurassic Outpost has also apparently been given a sneak peak via images of the magazine, provided by a subscriber of the magazine whom, if one subscribes to Fangoria, they'll have it in advance before release later this month.

They were also the first to showcase an image of one such creation that is of an entirely new species. One that is identified by Jurassic Outpost as: Microceratus

There are many other small ceratopsians that can be reconstructed or may have looked almost like this, but I have absolutely no doubt this is Miceroceratus, especially when you consider it's not only a dinosaur established in the larger lore through viral in-universe-styled websites, it's also one of Colin Trevorrow's favorites because of its small size (he loves small dinosaurs in general) which I've personally known since a JWE1 livesteam in 2018 with former Frontier community manager Steggs, where Trevorrow was brought in as a guest. (And maybe JO were told so beforehand by the subscriber who provided the images who saw what it was identified as.)

This thing was also rumored to be in Dominion as far back as 2020, alongside Giganotosaurus, Pyroraptor, Therizinosaurus, and Dimetrodon. All said four dinosaurs are now confirmed to be in Dominion, and now there seems to be a fifth.

I can't wait for Microceratus, the game needs more small dinosaurs in general.
I realy think, that the game needs some more small Dinosaurs, small Pterosaurs ( Ramphorhynchus and Dearc) and Marine Reptiles (Mixosaurs, Nothasaurs, Archelon).
But I think it was a reeaallly bad choice from the Movemakers to make Microceratus as one of the new Dinosaurs appearing in JW Dominion. !!!
You may ask why I say so ??? .... While Psittacosaurus and Protoceratops are rreeeeeaaaaalllly well known from al lot of COMPLETE skelletons and we know very good how their bodys looked , Microceratus is only known from very few teeth and bones. Generelly it is scientific considered as nomen Dubium.
So I would say Psittacosaurs .......

Or Protoceratops would have been a much Better choice ( And Scientiffic much more interssting/important) than Microceratus.

Not only is Microceratus featured in the original Jurassic Park novel, but, as has been mentioned previously, it's one of director Colin Trevorrow's favourite dinosaurs: https://www.thejakartapost.com/life...d-camp-cretaceous-is-a-roaring-good-time.html. . It seems kind of wrong to not let the director put his favourite dinosaur in the film, especially given that this might be his last time having this much influence on the franchise if he follows Steven Spielberg's lead. Maybe have it labeled as Graciliceratops since most of the Microceratus fossil material was reassigned to that genus. Changing it to Protoceratops or Psittacosaurus is a bit of stretch though since those are noticeably bigger than Microceratus / Graciliceratops and thus kind of defeat the appeal of a cute tiny dinosaur.

Don´t get me wrong , I even like the Design chosen for Microceratus, but there are so few fossils, even if we take all which are now reassigned to Graciliceratops that no one really knows how big an adult Microceratus was. Mussasaurs was in the original JP novel , too. A nice little Dino many people thought, but a fully grown Individual is now estimatet of 1000kg in wight !.... the Fossils of the small (30cm long ) Mussasaurs were from an Baby DIno.
Some Psittacosaurs subspecies where only just a bit over 1m Long and are from adults for sure. It´s ok that Microceratus is in the Movie, but Protoceratops is an very important Dino which showed us like the Mayasaurs that Dinosaurs cared for their Babys llike Modern Birds do!
The fossils of an Velociraptor and a Protoceratops which both died while they where fighting is very famouse and should allone be a good reason to bring it back to live in JWE 2! Protoceratops and Psittacosaurs where first Ceratopsien and should not be overseen as nice addition of small herbivores to our Parks. Btw. a Lot of fossils from very young Baby Protoceratops ( only 30cm in Length ) where found, and such a Baby would be just as cute as Microceratus.
