Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Well Frontier probably has made way more than $500 millions since they Kickstarted Elite, they just choose not to invest all of it in their main game, probably because it's not their main game after all.
Lol no.

They have sold ~5 million copies (base game+expansions) and even working on the idea that each of those is sold at full price, they have "only" made $250 million. I seriously doubt they have made another $250 million from their $3 ship skin sideline.

Companies build portfolios. I mean this is just kindergarten level business 101.

Plus, they need to share with platform owners.

"Toot, toot!" is a popular expression among kids. I did it too. I know what you're thinking now: "Germans and their anal fixations...", but hear me out: It's nothing like that. It is how we imitate sirens and horns. "Honk, honk!" Maybe Ortwin did it with some Lego models and Chris totally misunderstood he wanted the bowel mechanics.

And maybe a series of hidden surprise trapdoors so they can behave like SC ships where you just randomly drop through the floor without warning!
That's exactly why we fund CIG. Because no other company wants to deal with this sort of bugs. They all stick to the easy way.

And as EDO and SC have both shown that interiors are simply time sinks unless there’s actually gameplay attached to them, as far as I’m concerned.
Ho boy, you still haven't understood that all SC players spend a LOT of time inside ships doing gameplay and other stuff ? That this time inside ships is in fact enjoyable and that it's something you want to do in SC ? You still think that ships interiors in SC have zero gameplay/social/roleplay value ?
The first time is interesting. The 97th time makes me wish for the option to jump straight to my cockpit. I don’t have much free time at home to play games, and the nature games like ED and SC, where time passes even when offline, makes time to play them even more precious.
For all SC players : the 97th time makes we wish we never again want to jump/teleport straight to the cockpit...
In fact you have absolutly no clue why some ED players left for SC and why interiors are so important...

I'm really confused by what you call a timesink in a game. Do you think the travel time from system to system in ED is also a timesink that should be removed by a direct teleport to the final destination system ? Because it makes you loose a lot of your precious time... Or at least a teleport midway (= loosing only half of your precious time) ?

Well ship interiors would be a massive improvement for immersion and roleplaying. I wouldn't mind if the gameplay is basic. That can be improved later. There could be an elevator near the cockpit to get outside fast.
You can't change the fundamentals of a game just like that. Stuff like that has to be designed from the start. It is time to finally accept that.
