Asia has now the continent with more animals

After the update and read the patch notes, the Euopean Badger is from Europe and Asia, so asia became the continent with the most animals, previously it was the same as africa, but that has changed, initially africa was the continent with the largest number of animal species but with the passing of the DLCs, asia has increased by 36 species, and Africa is left with 35 species, do you think Asia needs more species or Africa?

Not certain, let's see:

Africa:
1. A large antelope like kudu or eland
2. Another equine, preferably a donkey
3. A civet
4. Dromedary
5. A small cat like caracol or serval
6. Honey badger
7. Secretary bird
8. Ground hornbill
9. Helmeted Guineafowl
10. Shoebill
11. Grey crowned crane
12. Another monkey
13. A true baboon
14. Fossa
15. Scimitar horned oryx
16. African dward crocodile

Asia:
1. Prezwalski's wild horse
2. Saiga
3. Pallas cat
4. Pelican species
5. A gibbon species
6. Another monkey species
7. Another pheasant species
8. Wolverine
9. Pere David's deer
10. Tundra swan
11. A Takin
12. Japanese Serrow
13. Tanuki
14. A martin or polecat species
15. Habitat soft-shelled turtle
16. Giant salamander

The tie breaker would be leopard. Personally, I prefer the Asian subspecies, but I wouldn't be unhappy with a an African leopard, or with some kind of multi-region mongrel.

I would add to Africa the Red River Hog because of its popularity and also a really small antelope like the Dik Dik (possible also the Duiker but I wpuld prefer the Dik Dik). Instead of the japanase serrow the markhor is a Lot more appealing to me. And the blackbuck is such a beautiful antelope. Qith the better and better quality from frontier it would be a shame if it would not be introduced into the game. But your lists show that both continents still have a Lot of potential.

How on earth did I forget the Red River Hog? One of my favorite animals no less!

But yes, I don't think that any region is "finished" yet, because while some may be better represented than others, there are still so many diverse species and fan favorites to add!

For me..honestly, there's not that many animals I would have to have from either at this point but could still get a good animal pack out of both.

Just my own big wants:

Wolverine - My head cannon is that it's more European and N. American, but it does exist in Asia.
Gibbon of some species
A Leopard, it could be Amur/Indian/Persian/African but it will need to be something from one of the two continents

Red River Hog
And Old World Porcupine, prefer the Crested Porcupine but the Cape Porcupine would be alright.
Jackal - I would prefer an Africa species, but the Golden Jackal would be alright.

That's my big three from each continent - if you count the Leopard as an Asiatic Species, an the porcupine and Jackal as African species.

Other highly requested animals from other players, though not really by myself, include a Baboon and the P. Horse- so that's three for each now.

After that Asia runs somewhat shorter in my book but I still think I could do an animal pack, I just wouldn't be as picky. From my own top 50 wants (not including birds) animals like the Markhor, and Saiga Antelope would be welcome, but that's actually it.

Meanwhile, Africa has another 8 animals in my top 50, so I would guess by numbers alone, Africa would be more necessary for me than Asia.

There are more animals from Africa than Asia that I still want, and some that cross over.

For Africa:
  • Crested porcupine.
  • Serval.
  • Caracal.
  • Leopard tortoise.
  • Addax.
  • Scimitar-horned oryx.
  • Hamadryas baboon.
  • Helmeted guineafowl.
  • Diana monkey.
For Asia:
  • Siamang.
  • Sumatran tiger.
  • Tanuki/Raccoon dog.
  • Japanese serow.
  • Japanese sika.
  • Amur leopard.

Yeah, both Asia and Africa are so diverse in the fauna that even if they currently have most animals, there is still alot that could be added.

I would still like to see animals from Asia:
Przewalski Wild Horse
Gibbon species
Raccoon Dog
Takin
Lion-tail Macaque

And from Africa:
Red River Hog
Generuk
Honey Badger
Secretary Bird
Crested Porcupine
Hamadryas Baboon
African Spurred Tortoise
Fossa

I dont really care about the order, but it does make sense that asia as the largest continent has the most animals to offer, especally with many animals with a large range crossing into it.
But in general, im quite happy with the animal variety we have in planet zoo rn.
Europe and northamerica are the only continents where i feel like no animal pack is needed anymore and i hope the rest will be like that soon aswell.
Overall, i hope that we will atleast have 45 animals for asia and africa, 25 for North and South America and 15 each for Europe and Oceania, which i think would be reasonable numbers assuming we will get atleast 15 more habitat animals this year and hopefully even more in the future.
Planet zoo finally is in a really good spot now with the ingame roster and im mostly satisfied, eventhough i will still buy anything frontier will give us.

For some high priority animals, lets go through the continents:

Europe:
  • Red deer
  • wild boar
While im sure i could easily make a whole animal pack for europe that i would like with animals like the european wildcat, polecat, moufflon or chamois, i feel like we will be a ok aslong as we still get these two staples of our forests and im quite optimistic about that, as im sure atleast the wild boar will have a spot in an eventual temperate biome pack.

North America:
  • peccary
  • racoon
Not gonna lie, im pretty much more then happy about nas state in the game, all its biomes are decently represented And im honestly fine how it is, but i do have to admit i do want my trash pandas, eventhough i dont think they are a must have pick at all,but i just like these little buggers.
The peccary also is a common and very unique suid, with the collared being the most common with the farthest destribution. They also would represent one of the only areas the na representation is lacking right now and that are the deserts kn the south. Overall great selection, good job frontier.

Africa:
  • red river hog
  • marabu stork
  • an eland
  • a duiker or dik dik
  • addax and/or scymitar horned onyx
  • fossa
  • baboon
  • small monkey(s)
  • white faced whistling duck (or any other small bird but thats my favorite)

Africa is fine in all honestly, the africa pack was amazing and only the north really needs some love and we thankfully got a little with the lechwe. But lets be honest, they could give us 3 full african animal packs and there would still be demand for more and favourites uncovered. For example, my personal most wanted african animal is the red forest buffalo, but i would be lying if they were a necessaty.

Asia:
  • gibbon
  • leopard (yes i want asia fight me)
  • prez wild horse
  • raccoon dog
  • pheasent(s)
  • monkey(s)
  • takin

Same as with africa, asias fine, could need some small additions here and there like one or more of its 4 (muntjak, sika, axis and peres david deer) cool deer species or some asian antelopes would allways be welcome, but i think thise animals on top habe priority. Of all the monkey regions, this has the least priority to me, because most of them arnt that common in zoos besides the rhesus maqcaque and the allready in game japanese ones, but atleast one more langur species would be great, gray lamgurs propoply being my preference. Also while i personally dont need them, i think its only waranted for the last big cat to make its appearance in the game.

South America:
  • howler monkey
  • tamarin(s)
  • monkey monkeys, the s is not a question
  • patagonian Mara
  • greater Rhea
  • maned wolf
  • spctacle bear
  • just general surprise me fun picks to fill out the roster and represent this very biologically diverse continent

Oh boy, heres pur first problem child.
South america in my humble opinion needs atleast 10 more animals especally from its southern parts.
Rn we have an okay representation of the tropical parts besides le monkeys, but the south really needs some help. The mara and rhea alone would help a ton, but also other animals like for example the pudu would be great to see. I really do not care what exact animals they give us, aslong as they are cool and more for South america, eventhough i would prefer unique species like the pudu, tamandua, mara, tegu, etc over the more generic filler dog and cat species, but i can totally see the points for the bushdog and ocelot and wouldnt mind their inclusion.
And yes, gimme monkeys, thats not a question but my only actual demand. More monkeys pls, in my dream world we would have both howlers (cause comeone its just a colorswap, good bonus animal), 3 tamarins (my pref would bd lion, cotton top and emperor, and 2 general monkey like squirrel and spider, bringing us to an animal pack with monkeys alone and i havent even touched things like my beloved night monkeys for example.
While i think the game would be fine even if we dont get anymore asian or african monkeys, we defently need some from SA.

Oceania:
  • Emu
  • Wallaby
-------------------------- the line of international borders
  • edchidna
  • wombat
  • kiwi
  • perentie and/or crocodile monitor
  • more wallabys
  • tassie devil
  • what ever is common in australian zoos

Okay so from an outsider perspective, all i need for a realistic australia section is one of the bennets, swamp and parma wallabys and the emu. The other 3 more common australian habitat animals in zoos are the red (or grey clone if you want that) kangaroo, the cassowary and the dingo, all of them we allready have, but emus and wallabys are just very important.
But now speaking of a general perspective and especally if you want to build australian zoos, hell yeah we need echidnas, wombats, tassie devils and all that jazz.
I even would go so far to say, that we could have reasonably up to 4 different wallaby species in the game, the before mentioned 3 that are common internationally and the yellow footed rock wallaby for its great looks (and hey they actually also are slowly becoming more common over seas). All 4 of them look very distinct from each other and would be great to have.
And then ofcourse we would have common australian zoo animals that i propaply dont even know, but i really would love animals like quolls and numbats in the game, eventhough i have no idear if they are held in zoos.

Overall im really happy with the game and if i would have to grade the continents i would say a 1 for na, 1- for Africa, 2+ for europe, 2 for asia, 3 for southamerica and 3- for oceania, but hey everybody passed so thats something, couldnt have said that for the quad f on release with asia only barely hovering around a 3.

There are highly requested animals from both, but I think Asia would be more wanted:
Africa
  • Crested Porcupine
  • Red River Hog
  • Baboon(any species)
  • Foosa
  • Another Lemur
  • Black Rhino
  • Nile Crocodile
  • Leopard Tortoise
  • Addax
  • Scimitar Horned Oryx
  • African Leopard
  • Serval

Asia
  • Amur Leopard
  • Asiatic Leopard
  • Dromedary Camel
  • Wild Ass
  • Przewalski Horse
  • Gibbon
  • Blackbuck
  • Markhor
  • Takin
  • Pallas Cat
  • Saola
  • Yak
  • Wolverine

Both
- Caracal

There are a bunch of other species, including birds, but this should give a good variety.

I think Asia 'needs' more animals, Africa feels more complete to me.

For Africa, I'd want more desert animals, the Madagascar predator, and the last rhino.
  • Addax
  • Black rhinoceros
  • Caracal
  • Sand cat
  • Scimitar horned oryx
  • Striped hyena
  • Hamadryas baboon
  • Fossa

For Asia, I'd want more desert animals (overlap with North Africa), but also more animals from India, the Himalaya, northeast Asia, Japan, and even from Southeast Asia. There's a lot still missing, I feel.
  • Przewalski horse
  • Amur / Indian / Arabian leopard
  • Takin
  • Saiga antelope
  • Blackbuck
  • Langur
  • Gibbon
  • Pallas cat
  • Wolverine
  • Musk ox
  • Tanuki

And more. Much more. Overall I feel Asia is lacking the most, even though Asia has plenty of species overall. Asia is just so large and covers so many areas and habitats...

The thing that matters most to me is good representation of the Earth's diversity moreso than where a species is located- though having options from everywhere is a plus. We only have one subantarctic animal but I am pretty ok with that because most subantarctic diversity is just. Penguins.

With how large a landmass Asia is, it totally makes sense it'll have a ton of options. We've already had two packs that cover Asia (Europe and SEA packs) and then several Asian reps from other packs (Notably North America and now the Wetlands pack, but to a lesser extent elsewhere) but I still think Asia has some pretty big gaps- moreso than other continents, except maybe South America, but even then I'm not quite sure yet considering the Wetlands pack patched up pretty much every animal I'd like to see from South America except a peccary, spectacled bear, and maned wolf.

I think South America still has alot to offer and lacks more monkeys. The place is known for its diversity of monkeys, but right now, the only choice is the Capuchin. Adding even 2 more species of new world monkeys would make such a difference. Together with Maned Wolf, Spectacled bear, Sloth and some bird species (Spoonbills, American Flamingos or such birds that can be added without aviaries), it would round it very nicely.

Of course I would never say no to more picks like Tamandua, Coati or Ocelot, since SA is my favourite continent, but other places needs a spot too.

I think at this point, I don't care about continental/national divisions but rather biomes and species types. In addition, to be honest, I don't really care anymore about what's 'common' or 'likely' in zoos anymore either. I'd just like to see unusual, cool, animals. I'd love to see a pack that focuses on temperate rainforests:

Kodkod
Tasmainian pandemelon
southern pudu
monito del monte
black bear
black tailed deer
any of the dozens of Chilean frogs as exhibit animals
and so on.

For me, if the 'conservation' message is important, it's not unreasonable to shift a little away from the idea of 'what's realistic in zoos' to 'what would show people how cool, interesting and vulnerable the world is' via cool animals and information about their needs and worlds. Also a shift to either biomes or species would allow the developers to spread the animal love around to so far neglected continents like Ociana, South or North America.

I'd also like to see species themed animal packs - vulpines, suid, etc. I personally hate most primates but ... I know I'm in the minority there and am more okay with the smaller ones. I would like to see a howler money in the game - unique animations and sounds.

Creo que en este punto, no me importan las divisiones continentales/nacionales, sino los biomas y los tipos de especies. Además, para ser honesto, ya no me importa lo que es 'común' o 'probable' en los zoológicos. Me gustaría ver animales inusuales y geniales.

Yes me too, I prefer the biomes to the continent
