Trick for hunting Glowing Green Gas Giants?

My most recent obsession has been to find an undiscovered one. Is there a trick? Like looking for ELW's, you target certain star types and whatnot. Can a GGGG (?) be any sized gas giant? Do they favor certain stars? Or is it just a blind stab at it? I'm currently about 8k ly's vaguely "west" of Sol pottering around. Never seen one at all and want to. Any pointers?

Luck.

Slightly longer version...there are no known meaningful criteria to narrow down searches. The closest thing would be higher helium content boxels simply because they have more gas giants per system, so the more gas giants one finds, the higher the chances of finding a GGG. But as the saying goes...twice nothing is still nothing.

For reference, the master list of known GGGs is linked from the main thread. Feel free to stare at the data for those systems and see if you can divine any patterns, but the fundamental problem there is that there's less than two dozen data points. It's clearly not something obvious like a particular star class or planet type or sector, but that's just not enough occurrences to tease out some more subtle correlation.

Cheers for that. I've looked at that thread many times and come to the same conclusion. I'll keep poking about, I guess!

That spreadsheet is no longer updated, try the one in this thread instead.
On one hand, by today, there are 39 data points. On the other hand, there are only 39 data points. So yeah, luck.
The usual rate is that one GGG is added to the Codex around every two million new systems discovered.
