Well the regulation class is heating up now with some excellent times and flying. The unlimited class is yet to start really heating up, but I imagine some really serious times will appear over the week. There have been some new entries however. More tomorrow. Remember there are still championship points up for the taking at the moment!

Well... managed to sneak in three runs this afternoon.

The first was an unlimited run where I accidentally docked at 3% hull. :(

The second was also an unlimited run where I slightly misjudged how much damage my ship could take at Vasilyev. 🤯 It would've been a sub-17 minute entry if I had survived. :(

The last was a regulation run that's around 20 minutes.

I'll be starting the uploads now, and will submit them when I get home tonight and have the time to properly review them.

😱 Since I'm submitting video, hopefully the first commodity screen will be proof enough that I'm not carrying anything at the start of the race...

I have Submitted my Open Unlimited run. I crashed plenty, missed a toaster slot, was inefficient, had to dodge an interdiction, but I made it. Hopefully I managed to follow the rules ok.

Viper MKIII, Booooom Blast & Ruin, speed of 777 through the gateway interchange tunnel.

Time was 19:40, finished with 1% hull for -90 seconds. 18:10

After 6 booms and an accidental refuel I finally made it all the way round. I even had a go at head-butting the landing pad at Vasilyev a couple of times until I chickened out at 8%. I also found out shouting "WHEEEEEE!" when attempting the tunnel helps enormously - although there was one "WHEE- Oh sh..." BOOM that I'd rather forget about. And there was a trip to jail after an NPC Dolphin got in the way. My wife says it was very entertaining listening.

Plenty of room for improvement, before I start thinking about an Unlimited run.

Normally I wouldn't mind that the Unlimited class times are faster then my regulation run ... but when it's an Anaconda slipping through that tunnel with zero time penalty?

It's @Shaye Blackwood after all but how he did that without proper spiral approaches (cause you can't really in a Conda) is really, really impressive.

I'm really looking forward to seeing that and learning, awesome Shaye o7

I totally thought I'd nailed it, then out of the tunnel I realised I couldn't steer, there was no hud and I was hearing boom sounds.
I'm so slow on the uptake sometimes 😏

Was tired enough to go straight to bed last night, and my brain is apparently active enough to wake me up way too early this morning, and won't let me get in another two hours of sleep, so...

Didn't feel like I made many critical mistakes in either run, besides not realizing my navigation filter settings weren't carried over from Odyssey into Horizons, as well as fumbling a sale, which cost me more than a few seconds during my Unlimited Run. The Regulation Run had the benefit of being my fourth run on the course, so all my mistakes were relatively minor ones.

They're a good baseline for me these days, especially given the fact that a new Early Access Game, the Planet Crafter, had seduced me away from prepping for this race ahead of time. ;)

Okay Day 3 of the Wiccan BeWare race and there has been some action across the board.

In regulation we have the ever speedy Commander Sgurr kicking Mr Turner firmly into second place. I am sure there will be a fight in the bar now.

Further down we have an excellent first entry from Gadnok below 20 minutes. Good going! Closely followed by a new entry from Inga Stevenson for 5th & 6th places respectively.

Further down the field we have new entries from Martinjameson and Honborgor to shore up the end of the table. Both still achieving a bonus in process. Well done.



In unlimited we have a race starting to take place now.

Mr Turner has turned up in his ever faithful Sans Serif to set a terrific pace for 1st place. There was not much left of his ship but I am sure he can fix it.

Ingra Stevenson has also joined with a solid 3rd place entry

In 5th place we have MegaAndy roling up in a Viper and placing them firmly in the points.

At the bottom but still worthy of a mention is Sgurr in last place, but using a Corvette. There is some damage to the station but they say they can buff it out. Astonishing!
