No, it's 'non the quieter', which means 'I see that you are still talking'.My sincere apologies, but I have to point out it's "non sequitur".

At 54k views, 3.6k likes, and 1.2k mostly supportive comments, I'd say the hornets are just a few annoying splats on OA's windshield.Obsidian Ant really kicked the hornet nest.
On the axis of fanboyism-haters, Burr is all the way into "fanboy", Yamicks is all the way into "DOOM" and OA is pretty much at the middle, IMO. You had others big CC in the middle, like Hawkes, but he kinda left. Exigeous was also very neutral, but also haven't posted for a while.Indeed. I see a striking number of people in this thread who you normally only see when there is something that even remotely smells like Doom. Without wanting to call them vultures now, but a certain resemblance does suggest itself to me. I mean especially those people who always have an open ear for things that go wrong, but never say anything positive. OA was also a source of balanced reporting for me for a long time. The only thing that has remained of it are his aesthetically sophisticated videos. I think he could take an example from the Buur Pit's videos, which not only provide very aesthetic images, but also capture the current mood and especially the anxieties of the community in a well balanced way.
All in all, I still think positively about OA, and I don't like the fact that he is receiving so much unjustified criticism at the moment, some of which is really below the belt. But he is certainly not the god of all influencers and it should be possible to criticise him without lapsing into insults.
Hyperbolic is the route that let's you exit the gravitational influence of the current main body. Parabolic - and you crash to the ground.Hyperbole - "a super-exaggerated way of describing something for the sake of emphasis that often borders on the fantastical or ridiculous."
To be fair, Buur's love for the game is more pure and genuine than the typical fan (which is short for fanatic) of the game. I really like Buur, and while I don't share his enthusiasm about Elite Dangerous, I do enjoy his enthusiasm and find it uplifting. If anyone is going to convince me to give Odyssey a try someday, it would be Buur (and his wife, who plays a pivotal role in his videos). Buur is also not afraid to admit when Frontier is dropping the ball. He's nothing like the stereotypical "fanboy" haunting this thread. On the axis of fanboyism-haters, Burr is all the way into "fanboy"
I'm not sure that's true. I'm a big XCOM fan and when Firaxis relaunched it I joined their forum to get news updates and stuff. There was a guy just endlessly going on about how rubbish it was, but most people loved it. I forgot about the forum but joined the XCOM2 one when that came out. One time years later I accidentally logged into the old XCOM forum, and the moany guy was still there saying how rubbish it was. Saying it was terrible was clearly just part of his daily routine. I'm not sure there was even anybody there arguing with him. The people who actually liked the game had long since moved on!You don't spend so much time playing and working on videos for a game you hate.
Poor choice of word maybe, but what I was saying, Buur is kinda as extreme as Yamicks, but on the other side. Yamicks also have valid criticism, it's not doom for doom sake. It's just the way he word it and focus on it make it very negative. To be fair, Buur's love for the game is more pure and genuine than the typical fan (which is short for fanatic) of the game. See, I expect better of you. What evidence supports that OA's video (the topic of this thread last I checked) declares that Elite is doomed? As for evidence of OA's specific claims about communication, he provides plenty in his video. And regarding OA's admittedly provocative "It feels like a sinking ship" opening (emphasis on "feels"), one just needs to look at the 1000+ comments on that video, the reviews and ratings of Odyssey, or the various official statements from Frontier, including a number of apologies from the CEO himself, not just to this community, but to his shareholders as well.
I don't think Elite is definitively doomed in the same way I am certain the earth is a globe rather than a disc, nor do I see OA stating that as fact, but there is enough evidence to warrant some worry. So I'd rather compare those worried about the future of Elite, based on past and current trends, to those who believe in climate change rather than comparing them to flat-earthers.
I do not think that the game will be shut down in one or two months.
but what is possible is, that the budget and effort may be reduced over time and FD will keep the game in stagnation state. Also just because a company is promoting a product, it does not mean that the product is good or in our case healthy.
Some significat changes happened in the last time, console version has been cancelled, tiling fixing cancelled. Now that ED has become a PC only game, I would like to see a sign that the PC version of ED will be improved and expanded beyond just bugfixing to keep the remaining player in the game.
I would prefer to write this in my native language because in english I miss some words to express what I mean.
Sorry, my attention span is way too small to read all that. At least with OA's videos, I can listen to them in the background while washing dishes. If you want to make a video and post the link, I've got a sink full of fresh dishes needing washed.See, I expect better of you.
The quote you quoted was me saying that dormers have less evidence for doom than flat earthers have for flat earth.
If you want to change the subject, which has admittedly moved beyond just OA's video, we can do so. I don't care to give him a view as his content has dropped below the bar for what I'll click on. It isn't engaging me anymore.
Is calling Elite maybe a sinking ship doomerism? I would categorize it as such. It's, at a minimum, hyperbolic. That would make calling out hyperbole pretty hypocritical.
Calling doom and gloom as solid as climate change though is beyond absurd. The evidence for climate change is nearly as overwhelming as that for a round earth.
Elite doom, on the other hand, has no supporting evidence.
Note the shift there though. From some people feel the game is dying to the game actually is dying.
I would not contest that some people feel that way, however I believe those feelings are lacking in reasonableness and evidence.
We have had announcements that 1. The tiling issue is not being worked on. If it's a total reroll for the galaxy that's reasonable. The last reroll took a major content launch to pay for.
2. Console won't be supported. This tells us that Frontier can not make enough money on consol sales to support consol development on next generation platforms and aren't making enough on ARX to support whatever miracle would make Oddyssey playable to 8yr old Co sol hardware.
Neither of those is evidence that the game is dying.
In contrast we have active development. A sure sign of continued life. We have active advertisement including new skins being designed and given away for engagement. That is evidence of a living game working to maintain a community.
I spent time with Arthur at the recent Buur Pit event with Chieftans. He did not present as someone looking at immediate job change or loss he was upbeat and excited. That, btw, is the feedback I'm getting from the folks who interact with the actual developers at meet and greets as recently as a month or two ago.
And it's the internet and absolutely every single online game I've played from Everquest to Elite has had communities that swear the game is dying.
OA's content has been decidedly negative, and while there certainly is a market for that sort of negativity its the same, to me, as the market for Twitter. A drain on the collective wellbeing of humanity.
I've seen games actually die, City of Heroes, Worlds Adrift... Elite doesn't fit that pattern. Until some solid evidence is presented its just a pity party and hate mob indulging in a negative feedback loop for no good reason.
Sorry to have you out of your native language. I'll do my best to read charitably.
Why isn't plot development and patches evidence of that for you?
That's what has me pulling my hair. Yes the dev team have been quiet. They have also been developing and rolling out fin plot stuff.
So how is this different from the last times they were largely quiet? That's not new behavior for them it seems to be how they roll, with the notable exception of last year's frequent updates.
I'm willing to wait and enjoy. I'll worry or mourn only after the bad thing happens. To the extent that I can keep the game going I'll keep buying ARX, though more interior and customizable carrier space would be awesome.
Here take my stuffz. Remember to shake out the moth balls before putting on the tattered boxer shorts.
It's an ancient pagan ritual.Ah sweet - easy money today!
Out of curiosity though, why did you castrate a bunch of moths, and put the profits in your smalls? I'm wondering if it's a good thing to try and attract a mate? Preferably one without wings though....
So we remain silent just like fdev do. We never raise a hair. We remain mute and placate the trolls n knights. ?
No! We don't.
We don't give a **** what anyone else thinks we are entitled to our opinions and will voice them on a forum pertinent to the given subject. Which is what a forum is all about.
The question is why are fdev persistently silent as regards the future content/perpetuity of Odyssey? It's a simple question that one single fdev Post could answer.
Yet they refuse too. And that smacks of something wrong.
It's an ancient pagan ritual.
Unconditional negativity and deliberately ignoring improvements is not balanced, either. Two wrongs don't make a right.Must have missed the part where OA calls for a cancellation of Frontier and calls the developers "annoying little creatures".
Looks like the ex-boyfriends can't get over the "betrayal" that their former poster child might say something besides unconditional positivity.
What are you ranting on ? Certainly not the OA video which is the subject of this thread, since it was never about anything you posted in that super long monologue of yours.See, I expect better of you.

I thought he was pretty fair, and honest about what has been going on with Elite for q good while now...What did he say that was incorrect? Because, from someone who has played ED, and followed the game a few years now, I know he spoke the truth. Maybe you didnt want to hear the truth?Arthur confirmed a update 12 and we have the people working on the game talking about how excited they are to show us what they have been up to and....
This dude and others can only peddle doom and gloom.
Why?
Because he gets paid by the clicks and if 24 hour news teaches anything it's that doom sells.
I've lost patience with OA and doom in general.
Someday sure the game will die. When that happens I'll have my screen shots, my memories and I'll move on.
It's not anything to get worked up over and in the moment the game works and is fun and is getting regular content.
So, chill.
