Odyssey rehab 1.0

- VR Support
Not sure about that. A bad implementation that will trigger nausea and/or vomit would attract a lot of flak and a lot of demands for VR to be improved.
This one seems to be all or nothing to me.
I guess the reaction to it wouldn't be worse than the reactions to the intital "no VR at all" and current "VR with 2D screen". Obviously it wouldn't be perfect for every VR player but you can't make everyone happy anyway. Most VR players that I know said they would already be happy with a simple solution and I guess even the most unreasonable person is going to realise that Odyssey will not become Alyx.

- NPC crew
I'd really like that. But as we found out with the Carrier on foot services, they cant seem to match the 2D (Horizons) mugshot abundance in variation to the 3D (Odyssey) full face rendering which is very very limited in variation at the moment.
We'd end with a very limited number of faces. No idea how many they are, but it's really cringeworthy to cycle through the Bar personnel and have only a handful of faces at my disposal
As I said above, good point. I would still prefer real NPC crew over pictures though.

- Ship legs
I pretty much prefer the current fast method of teleport. So if they're going to add Ship interiors, i hope they keep the blue circle. Whoever wants to run 100m through his Anaconda or whoever wants to climb the Cuttter' Stairs, is my guest.
That's why I said that we should be able to skip the animation.

But anyway, if we do get ship interiors, i'd like it to be a better job than carrier interiors. Not like i have something against carrier interiors, but the same approach with a single layout for 4 types of carriers would not work for 38 ships.
IMO Ship interiors should be either unique to the ship model or at least unique to the size and type of the Life Support module installed in that ship
I think one style per manufacturer and different sizes would be enough variety, if ship legs ever come I don't expect 38 unique models. Obviously I wouldn't mind it, but they could also spend these ressources on more SRVs and megaship interiors.

Totally with you on the anti-Aisling. Also think that those funny jaggies on graphical lines seem like a downgrade from Horizons. And the real problem is that Ody performance means supersampling to hide it is just too costly for most, so it presents an even more egregiously bad issue than before.

Make concourse/settlement missions that are one way. I hate having to return to the concourse/settlement for every mission.
That's not even the point. I always regret it. If it were possible not to return, we could fly on and on. Complete the mission, take the next one and fly on...
But with the return, I'm tied to one station, and to fly on, I have to fly somewhere for nothing :(

If missions could be turned in remotely, then so should fines. As for the hangar walk: having the option to access station services remotely from the cockpit, just as in Horizons, would be sensible. It's absurd that ship interiors are refused for being too monotonous while the hangar-walk was being made mandatory.

Especially when you're using a larger ship. In some stations, I have to run from near the front of my Corvette, all the way to its rear, and then some to reach the elevator. It doesn't bother me, just makes me raise an eyebrow when I remember what Frontier said about ship interiors...

If they make the insides of the ships will have to run twice as much.
1 - run from the chair to the hatch.
1a - (climbing stairs)
2 - run from the hatch to the elevator.

I would add Derelict/crashed ship salvaging with recoverable modules and ship materials and maybe add a specialized salvage SRV on planets to start with and in space if/when we get EVA,
IMO FD needs to connect ship and on-foot gameplay rather than all the effort going into suits that only serve to improve the time it takes to grind more suit upgrades.

That's true. It still makes me raise an eyebrow though because I think it is a poor excuse.

And dancing, today I feel like dancing.
I have discovered that it is already possible to dance with NPCs. Stand around in the bar and watch and wait for an NPC to path back and forth across the floor. Now go and interrupt that pathing, right in their face, then interrupt their attempt to evade you’re blocking of their path, again and again and again. You are now dancing!

Boy I really need to find something else to do while waiting for mission board to refresh…

Well, i'm really grateful they set the Carrier hangars to have a side entrance instead of a back entrance 😂

While I do understand this argument completely, and I understand what a huge task ship interiors would be (and I want them as much as anyone), this is largely irrelevant to the point people are making with it.

Press 3, have up to 2 of 3 options. Disembark, deploy buggy, deploy fighter.

There's no reason we couldn't have a "Board ship" and a "Rush to Cockpit" option when boarding from ground, with the second basically working like what we currently have.

Likewise when we press 3 in the cockpit, we could have a "Leave Helm" option next to "Disembark" somewhere.

I would add, disable the sprint limitation while in the hanger. Running the distance from the blue circle of a large ship, like the Cutter, to the hanger entrance is not exactly fun or entertaining. At least let us sprint the whole way!

Some low hanging fruits and simple additions which would drastically improve Odyssey gameplay in my opinion.

- VR support

- NPC crew

- Ship legs

- Anti Aliasing

- Performance

- hooning

This is why I want to keep Horizons as-is, because everything I quoted from your list, I already have in Horizons. Odyssey giveth, but Odyssey also taketh away.

Your list isn't entirely fair though.

Regarding VR Support, NPC crew and ship legs there is no real difference between Odyssey and Horizons.
