Ship Interiors!!

If it was a 'space simulator' then it would do a much better job at simulating gravity and combat wouldn't be styled around WWII-era dogfighting. I agree that it's a simulation of a galaxy, but beyond that it's primarily a game.

Videos from people who want ship interiors do not make ship interiors a necessity - they simply represent someone's opinion. An opinion I happen to disagree with.
They debunk the fallacy that it would add nothing. They gave awesome examples of the potential gameplay revolving around ship interiors. It also fixes the issue of the painful immersion breaking get knockec out, wake up under ur ship. Teleport out of your ship without the option of walking out is unacceptable. I say we leave teleport enabled but allow people to walk in and out and around the ship. That way everyone is happy.

Many Odyssey-users have waited a long time for ship interiors! But they have not came yet!

Are they planning to skip Ship-interiors and instead focus on "On-foot combat" only?

We need ship Interiors!
FDev never promised ship interiors, all they ever said was it was something they would "like to have". FDev just tossed thousands of players over the side over a game-port. You really think they are going to start developing ship interiors now, after eight years?

Let's assume we would get ship interiors at some point in the future.
So you're enjoying your luxurious captain's quarters while out in the black.
And suddenly another ship shows up to poke you with it's guns.
What then? Teleport back in the pilot's seat? Or running back to the bridge? Getting there just in time to admire - Well, at least for a short moment - the cracks in the canopy? 😁

Just think of the immersion!

It's almost like you'd need other crew members.

U die. Dont get out of the pilot's aeat in potentially hostile territory

Made up scenarios to try and make people that want interiors look stupid, make the person making those scenarios up look silly.
Interiors are dead, we get it. It's part of why I no longer buy arx, recruit friends to play, or play in places or modes where other players can interact with me. It's not a big deal.

I hope fdev pulls their head out of their ass and does interiors.

Maybe if you want rooms you should play a house simulator instead of a space flight simulator. Can I recommend Adopt Me on Roblox?

Condescending and stupid post, all while lacking any standing to be taken as more than a troll. Congrats, you win the internet.

That's not a condescending and stupid post!

THIS IS!

Why not address the valid point. It's a space flight sim. You don't buy a flight sim then sit in the toilet on a Boeing 747, do you?

I also don't see any praise for being able to walk around stations and facilities, even from the "space legs" crowd that were baying for it. With that lack of encouragement, why should FDev bother with ship interiors? Did you even congratulate them on Fleet Carrier interiors?

You had a point in that post? All I saw was a childish attempt at an insult. Or are you refering to some other post you made that was not a direct quote of one of mine?
Why should they bother? Forgive me for expecting something they told me they intended way back at the beginning and a few times since, or maybe because some/many of their customers clearly want them. If they don't cool I guess. They can sell me what I want or don't. It's their art and my money, same as always. But I am going to continue to make what I want known. Who knows, they may choose to deliver one day.

I did give kudos for FC interiors, in one or more of the multiple threads about FC interiors. They are really sweet. Hope they expand on them at some point.

No need to be a (pejorative reference to an unpleasant person) **** about it, and you were being one.

I think the man just wants to explain that instead of wasting the resources of the computer and the developers on the delicate content in a space simulator is better spent on something useful for the gameplay.

Maybe he should say that instead of telling me to play some other game I never heard of until today.
Besides, I would not consider ship interiors a waste.

I think ship interiors could come if going by the kickstarter preconceptual paintings where FDev have gradually fulfilled each one enough over the years. But not this year or the next. It could be in four years, or even eight years from now. My guess of what would come first is personal bases, then some city structures, then maybe some apartments in stations, cities, or in the orbis habitation area rings.

It's just way too much work to do interiors for ships in whatever state they are in, flying , rotating etc., and having multiple ships with interiors at once in all their individual moving frames of references in an instance. They've done a good job so far in Odyssey, with being able to see and coexist the concourses and other cmdr ships seeing it from the outside and now with fleet carrier interiors and observable hyperjumping which again beat expectations. But it's still a lot of work in even getting a first ship done for interiors in all aspects. It might have to be another dlc on par with Odyssey. Maybe it would come with first ELW with lakes and streams. Similar to how first atmospherics and on-foot on terrain and in stations arrived at the same time with Odyssey two years after the announcement of it.

Some post in this thread mentioned the bathroom interior in a boeing 747 sim. The specific pmdg 747 version back in the early 10's I'm not sure had it, but did have the first class upper section behind the cockpit area, but one of the pmdg planes did, I forget which , where it had the rendered lavatory, and open and closable door, and you could push the flush button with a simple animation, also with running water of the sink, and then "hang" in the bathroom using the FSX "interior"/virtual cockpit mode screen. Some of the other old FSX addon's by the various addon makers had planes with interiors , like the cessna mustang version which had openable wine shelves (had a rendered jack daniels bottle in it) , and foldable tables and the usual interior on/off lights etc , where you could "chill" in it relaxing while your plane was well set in a cruise stage on it's flightplan through its FMS (a whole bunch of procedures and flows simmable depending on plane addon complexity). Of course it was mostly panning around with the FSX controls, and there was also the flightone free "walkable" mod which had basic "step"-walking around (no avatar), and there was the "walk and follow" one which was a bit more featured addon with more observable set-able vantage points.

Yes, but my point is that if you could sit in the toilet instead of playing the game, how often would you do that? Repeatedly, day after day of PC time, or once and rarely again? It's not a sensible investment of resources, especially with the required physics of (excuse the pun) 3D motions of a spacecraft going on. Also, zero gravity toilet, just sayin'...
