Elite dangerous protest day

If you want people to notice, be creative and find a way to "in game" protest. That's the "in" kind of protesting the media loves! Meta protest in virtual worlds. Also sends the message that the game is actually "worth" saving and communicating to Frontier look at us.

A few people not playing an eight year old game will go unnoticed and largely sends the message its something not worth anyone's time, which I know is a message a fair few forum accounts are indeed dedicated to. But surely the intended outcome is to say "hey theres a community here worth investing in"

Remember the Eve statue? Oh yes

Remember when a few people didnt play Eve that day?

No

I think Frontier are proving (unintentionally) far more effective in creating non-participation than anyone else can hope to achieve.

Hopefully, the new financial year will bring some reason to cheer.

YMMV

aim I protesting, NO just uninspired
I was hooked again after the last bounty hunting CG. I had a blast! Frontier must have gotten word, because we haven't had one since. Can't have players enjoying themselves 🤦‍♂️

I've not fired up Elite since. I'm not protesting, I'm just bored. It's sad, because I'm very much in the mood for another good CG (so much in this mood that SE and X4 just aren't cutting it as alternatives at this specific moment in time).

It's a shame we didn't get a Thargoid-sampling CG this week, because that activity really is a lot of fun.

that man is a nasty piece of work - and a total and utter WATT!

In the good 'ol days, Frontier offered multiple CGs in tandem. A trade CG was almost always coupled with a "protect the traders" CG, which was the bounty hunting CG. One could do this with just about any CG, including your sampling CG.

For a game so heavily combat-focused, I can't for the life of me understand why Frontier all but abandoned combat-related community goals... It's like they are emphasizing storytelling over gameplay rather than using the story to provide MORE gameplay options. The moral is, when it comes to this game, be very careful what you wish for (says the guy who begged Frontier to bring back stories to Galnet).

I didn't actually notice that, because I'm also burnt out on the game and did the bare minimum on the past few CGs.

Is it by design or by accident - if there had been parallel bounty hunting CGs would there be acceptable opportunities to bounty hunt in the systems they took place in?

Sometimes BG CGs require you to go to neighboring systems, which isn't always the most convenient, but it's still doable.

Often it feels like Frontier picks the system of the week out of a hat, rather than looking at the system map to see if it's actually a fun system to work in or not. Of course there are exceptions, when the story dictates things must happen in a certain system. In those cases, I think Frontier could and often should manually change the BGS to reflect the CG. For example, fire up some pirate signal sources in systems where trading CGs are taking place, allowing for a parallel "protect the traders" CG even if the system lacks a RES.

Another option is for Frontier to manually compromise the nav beacon in that system for the duration of the CG. AFAIK, all systems with a station or outpost has a mandatory navigation beacon.

we could block docking access by simply taking up all landing pads and Jameson memorial station , have small ships ,big ships , medium ships, just leave the pc on all day , that would get noticed

Of course I could also be wrong, but when I googled it awhile ago it appeared that they don't pay any dividends.

AFAIK investing in their shares is just a gamble on the shares going up or down, or a way to diversify your portfolio (which isn't a bad idea as a long term investment strategy).
