There has to be at least one ELW out there to find in my travels.

Not sure how many jumps I have made so far but got to be 1000 or so, lots of scanning, lots of water worlds, and so on but not one ELW so far this time around.

I am not done exploring, slowly making it back to the bubble wearing paint off my Python. I probably have close to another 1000 jumps before I get back from where I started.
Nothing really special to report this time around unless a system that is mostly all rings out of the 65 detected, planning on going back to map them all some day.

But no ELW really baffles me this time around.

I am not really searching for them but kind of wish to find some along my journey out there. Where I am I have only cross path where two other cmd had pass through. Pretty lonely and quiet where I am. Will have many FTF.

On another note and take it this might just be a glitch. Three jumps in a row and the stars never showed up on radar so was fueling up blind, just need to keep an eye on temp doing so. They would show up eventually. Weird as this is the first time this has happen to me. I play in VR mode.

They can just show up unexpectedly.
Ive just dragged the carrier back to my exploration spot in LYRA'S and pretty much follow the same route (i have a few mapped Trit systems to rest and do some mining), i found 12 new WW and 2 ELW on the way.
Even following roughly the same track i would say 80% of the systems i passed through in Outer Orion and Achilles were new discovery's.

They are out there even if your not dedicated to searching for them.

Hi Marbat,
Glad to see someone out exploring in a Python! It's the all-rounder and my go-to ship in the Bubble and I've been exploring in one as well - I feel much safer returning with my data in it as well ;)
If you jump into a system and the star is not immediately on the radar then this means that no one has yet sold the data on it. These will be first discoveries for you, so take a look around and see what else in the system has been missed.
Earth-like Worlds are rare enough that you can go days without finding any and then maybe find several in a day. The thread of marx's that goemon linked to is a good guide but if you just want to roam and catch them in passing rather than doing a search, then maybe exclude M, L, T, Y and protostars from the route plotter, as it is very rare indeed for these to have any but the route plotter puts you through many of them.
Have fun out in the black!

If you are routing specifically through scoopables, removing Class M stars from your filters will increase your chances significantly.

While those stars do a good job of shortening your route for travel, they are the least likely of the scoopable stars to have an ELW.

I might try as suggested by excluding a few stars. I am finding stuff that gets added to the codex. Really would like to find human or non human signals, whichever one it is. Have not found one of those ever in my travels.

Once ive found a base system out in the middle of nowhere i usually switch the map to 'Map Mode' and just filter for F and G.
Since my last post ive found another 15 Water Worlds, 2 ELWs and some Ammonia's just by jumping around in my Krait.

Im finding the same lately. Normally they pop up eventually but lately nothing. Also since update 11, the systems are a mess with bodies all clumped together, and then moving and not visible on approach. Hard to believe they postponed the release a few weeks to fix bugs and didnt notice this galaxy wide bug. The mind boggles.

Not come across any bugs at all and done over 20kLY past few days, what map mode is this happening in? may try to replicate if it helps.

I've seen this and what I would say is happening is that celestial bodies within the system are being drawn on the skybox when they are too distant to appear as anything other than a dot. However, their position when drawn on the skybox is about where it would be from the perspective of the jump-in point. This means that a gas giant with many moons or a secondary star with close-orbiting planets will drift away from their actual positions as shown by the targeting reticules, then disappear altogether when you get close enough for bodies to be drawn. When you fly past them again, with them behind you, they will then be drawn on the skybox again, thus appearing ahead of you.
I've not reported this as a bug as the behaviour is too deliberate, so I suspect it was something done intentionally to save processor cycles on drawing planets not close to you. Celestial bodies within a system have never previously been drawn on the skybox, however, and the game is effectively presenting false information to the player, so it does bug me even if it really is a feature rather than a bug.

Really bad, if it indeed is a "feature" of EDO. :(
Another reason to stay in EDH, and hope the merger doesn't happen.
