Retierment after 7 years.

Well now with FD having canned console support, Galaxy mapping coming to an end and generally people leaving, i am putting my ships in dry dock as well. It's been a fun 7 years and nearly 8000 hours of gameplay but i feel like quitting before i get too sour over "stuff".

My frequent trips to colonia, the core and beagle point are fun to remember. Taking up trading and passenger hauling, occasionally some bounty hunting, all fun. Also the community is great. I just feel like moving on.

So thanks guys for all the help, tipps and tricks over the years. It has truly been a blast.
And maybe we see each other in a different galaxy one day.
Cheers.

You're brave posting a I'm quitting post on this forum. You may need a flame retardant suit when the regulars see this! ;)

Joking aside, 7 years is a long time for any game. When it first came out there wasn't many games that could match its ambition and scope, unfortunately it never really lived up to the early hype. Lots of missed opportunities to build upon one of its main strengths (that being its 1:1 scale galaxy, something no one had attempted at the time). These days the competition in the genre is growing, so its no wonder many players are moving on.

But to get 7 years out of it is something to celebrate, and hopefully look back on the good times. Frontier made a good game, despite a heap of potential never being fulfilled. Anyone whose lasted that long has certainly had their monies worth. :)

Good luck in your new gaming adventures, wherever they may be!

Frontier shall announce their new policy for account transfers in less than 24h... do you know something we don't? 🤔
Could be they just don't own a PC or plan on buying one, which is fair enough.

It's a shame people are quitting the game they say they love out of frustration, despite the game having not changed for them at all.

People acting like the GMP being suspended (those claiming its over for good need to actually read the statement, they say it could return depending on the path the game takes... a bit like Lewis Hamilton threatening to retire unless the FIA do what he says) is a nail in the coffin seem to be over-egging the doom custard somewhat. If people are so upset at the potential loss of it, there is absolutely nothing stopping them from taking up the banner and handling it themselves. Meanwhile there are sill many, many other great player tools in service for the game.

People will always find a reason to stay or leave in order to justify themselves... it's just a bit strange the urge to make a whole thread over it... some will ignore, others would even might ask for your stuphz to be hazzed but at the end this seems what "social media" was made out to become...

“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than those you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the wind in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
― Mark Twain

Enjoy the retirement! There are other seas to sail like No Man's Sky, X4 and Star Citizen Well till Fronter give us something to come back for?

And yet here we are... Don't kink shame. ;)

I still enjoy playing Horizons from time to time. Do as you please though, of course, and thanks for a fond farewell.
