'conda with size 4 CRCR : 164T storage
'conda with size 4/5/6 CRCR : 404T storage

So those top 24 (currently) commandos have nearly 2.5x the shipping capability for some planned phase 2.

Unless this is fdev trying to illustrate some parable about the perils of inherited wealth inequality I just don't get it. Anyone who could afford to buy up MA for this CG gets a 2.5x advantage in the next stage, and anyone who didn't gets left behind.

The 'reward only for the top 10%' was one of the many more important issues with the original CG that sadly got drowned out by our sampling return rate cassandra 🤷‍♂️

Nope.
Conda full of size 4 CRCR = 160t storage
Conda full of size 4 CRCR and 1x size 6 and 1x size 5 (i do assume the rewards are cumulative) = 224 tons

So, its 160 vs 224, only 64t advantage, far from 2.5x

I'm not saying it's not an advantage, but it's not something unbearable.
And it may not even matter much - it all depends on how the rewards in the phase2 are distributed. There may be no special reward at all.

Fractabulous already answered. Basically what he said.

not exactly, see above

But how many cargo racks do they give you? If only 1, then your capacity is only higher by 64t

1x 64t = means a 48t advantage over the generally available 16t
1x 32t = means another 16t advantage over the generally available 16t

so yea, in total it is indeed 64t 😇

So has anyone listed the closest live site(s)? With arrival distance? I'm not really finding a tool that does that for me.
Yep still waiting for a closer site in LS to be announced... since 2020 update

Due to "Active" being the hard part they need to be reconfirmed... As have not been since 2020 in updates/EDO...

https://edtools.cc/list.php due to past sites going inactive nothing is insured to be still active... Plus Number of items at site is not insured...
You only needed 1 for engineeers and SRV only fitted 2 at a time...

But the thing that i dont find entertaining is the waaaay too long sampling time - the only sample i got was from a cyclops in an ax cz - and coincidentally or not, it was a 100% successful rate 😂
What smarts is when you try and sample something like a hydra. If you cold sample one, you get one shot and you have to be fast before it jumps away.... else you have to have a super- strong tank while you wait for the sample to return while under fire... i remember my fully tanked conda got out with 30% hull after pulling back one cycle of research limpets.

Which is a whole other aspect of the this bug. It's all well and good to measure returns from tanking a single scout... but where there's overheads to getting just one sample from a comparatively rare and dangerous spawn... that's painful.

best advice is to fill that conda with a g5 low emission pp, cargo racks, all d rated core modules, full of mrp, hrp and heatsinks. Yes no shields. Eventually clean drives too, although dirty ones run as good.
Aka a as perfect possible cold build
Then engage silent run and pop a heatsink here an there while trying to keep at more than 600m from the interceptor

Both the swarm and the interceptor will have a hard time hitting anything that stays below 20% heat

I have one single Hydra sample on my carrier.
I got it from a Megaship event. I have a very tanky ship, but I actually used the megaship for cover. Circling around close to the hull playing peekaboo with the angry danger daisy chasing me.
The swarm coulnd't decide between me or the remaining NPC ships fortunately. Not something I'm eager to repeat but it was certainly a thrill and made the resultant successful sample feel all the more rewarding.

I technically had 100% success rate with the limpets on that one. I fired off about a dozen of them and most got shot down, but the single limpet that made it back to my cargo hatch brought a sample with it.

Man I was going to get involved, but given the time investment I have to get the 15 or so MA I've picked up here and there. Nope. No way. Not going to try and farm hundreds of them.

My goodness...this is INARA's graph of the current CG. Look at that initial stockpile dump. :ROFLMAO:

Kind of feeling the same :

I recently unlocked the Size 4 Corrosion Resistant Cargo Rack. So, I went to a barnacle forest to collect the 16 required meta-alloys. After miserably failing to even find one, I had the brilliant idea to check if none was available at a FC... Bought them there and really hoped I would never have to try farming a Barnacle site again.

Yep, that killed the CG pretty much.

Those who dumped their entire lots shot themselves in the foot.
If more CMDRs would have participated we would have seen the size of the 10% bracket expand.

We'll have to see how the weekend goes but with 350 participants, currently only 35 CMDRs are up to receive the class 6 CRCR.

We've seen engagement lots of 1,500 to 6,000 on recent goals. That would have been hundred(s) of CMDRs getting it instead.

This poor CG was dead out of the gate. It makes me laugh that this is what 'might' have replaced Tissue Sampling.

(though... maybe tissue sampling is going to be the second part)
(edit - Have also thought, what if FDev wants to clean up all the MA floating about with some new content dependant on them... What happens if Thargoids begin to actually contest and protect barnacle sites making MA even rarer?)

I did actually wonder if this CG had a hidden reward for FDev, by removing a lot of the MA that odyssey settlements were selling (by mistake) from the game economy.

I really hope the 6A rack gets lowered to top 25% at least. It'll be a long and boring weekend among the barnacle forests regardless.

I'd be surprised if it stays so low, this CG is kind of a gold rush really (compared to other CGs), maybe even when using the SRV to gather the meta alloys.

I should launder some MA on my carrier and post a screenshot of selling 794 units for well over a billion to motivate people maybe...
