On ice worlds? I need to know your technique.
If you can't find in one area go to an area with slightly different coloured ice, maybe near a mountain or hill, you often see that colour change depending on geology, bacteria doesn't change colour so it will stand out on one or the other, there's only a couple of bodies I couldn't find bacteria, and they weren't actually icy bodies. Having done a lot of that though these days I chase high value bio or ones I haven't found before using Elite Observatory as a guide.
They're a pain in the butt to find on ice worlds so I just give it a pass over and ignore it. I just wanted to know if Beekhool had some dark secret. If it's something like "Oh just turn on Night Vision" that'd be hilarious.
I don't think we will have to worry about this... ever.
Hopefully the mechanics will change completely because I am expecting proper procedurally generated bio for ELW's, an infinite variety of species in the galaxy, every ELW having tens of thousands of different bio, ah well I can dream I suppose!
I have a moderate amount of faith that we get something for earth likes. The work with the dino games indicates to me that generating flora amend fauna is something they’ve put effort into already and they engine can do it.
Will it happen? Who knows. Probably depends on if profits recover as Odyssey matures. But I think it’s absolutely possible. IMO odyssey is a technical masterpiece. The armchair developers among us will continue to claim the game is bad and that the team is bad at coding but I actually think odyssey is a major accomplishment in gaming. It just took some time to clean things up and it was put out too early.
