So has playing changed your plans?

Nope, hasn't changed. I always knew that I would have to do weeks, if not months, of regular trading, bounty hunting and mission completion before I will have a ship at my disposal that I want to take into the depths of space. A fully decked out Asp, that is.

I won't explore for the money, by the way, but for the experience. It's not a job, it's a calling!

I had only vague plans if any back in Alpha. I got most of my ideas from the Darkwheel and then picked up a few as the newsletter took on a more narrative style. As the game features have developed and a sense of a living galaxy is starting to take shape my plans have not really changed, they've become more structured and defined. I've spent a fair bit of time toying with the black market and missions. Now I am at the point where I've got a possible political allegiance in mind, a game plan, and an ideal base of operations. I think settling down and reading some more of the books will bring my galactic plans more to life.

I suspect for a lot of people exploring will become what they do when they've had enough of careers 1, 2 and 3. Sort of like the eskimos walking off into the snow or the elves 'going to the sea'. 'I haven't seen Cmdr Bob lately.' 'Yeah, he's gone exploring...' 'He was a good trader.' 'The best.'

Speak for yourself. I'm planning on going "exploring" as soon as possible, just to get away from the highly populated areas and the "griefers"

No change in plans here... still don't have any.

Won't restrict myself to one profession. Will do whatever i want to at a given moment.

I explored a bit, got myself a cobra prior last wipe. Now I just don't care about trading anymore, it's all about shooting and killing. Well... it is me who die most of the time though but I keep trying :) All in due time, just need more practice.

I can't really say if my plans have changed until Launch, since we don't know exactly if and what mechanics will be implemented in that build. Right now some professions are really just outlines and need a lot more work to function as described in the DDA.

I didn't play BETA as I would play the final game, that's for sure. Being stuck in Federation space has been one of the main factors leading to my playstyle.

I forgot to mention I intend to spend as much time as possible in the famous Hoopy Casinos on Lave once we can walk around.

I think I'm going to build up a good long-range explorer - a Cobra, or maybe eventually an Asp when funds allow - but that's going to be funded by running a tramp trade route in a Type 6.

I've found some good complementary missions around the Tau Bootis area. There's High Tech world at Wolf 497 (?) Industry at Tau Bootis, and a good source of Tea and Coffee over at Hadad. I need to add a good Extraction and Refinery economy, but once I have I'll cycle around this loop with a hold full of commodities (tea, coffee, bertrandite, gold, auto fabricators, robotics, etc) and sell them to anybody who'll pay over the odds.

Then, when I get bored of trading for a while, I spend the profits on some Cobra upgrades (Wolf had a Class 4A FSD in stock, for example) and shoot off on an exploratory mission. Get bored of that, and come home for some more trading....

Ultimately, might even leave the explorer out on the frontier, and shuttle back and forward in a souped up Sidewinder.

That, at least, is the plan.

has it changed my plans?
Not really no, i've always been a trader but i have to admit exploring is becoming more and more my first choice for gameplay.
When Gamma's released all those juicy unknown systems waiting for some scanners.
need some serious cash before though.

Ah ha! So it has changed!

My plans? Why thank you for asking sir... I've tried trading, piracy, bounty hunting, merc and miner - in that order, but...

I am planning a steep path to the bling, so the plans will change as tweaks to careers are introduced over time.

I plan to buy the first gold skin for my Anaconda on the store, pimp the bird out to the max (racing stripes and those furry dice hanging off the rear view mirror) and then I'll be loitering around the Lave station entrance far longer than is acceptable or healthy, while watching her bask in that glorious blue light...

They will be introducing external views at some point, won't they?
