In Odyssey, How do I bring up the options menu in game? How do I update my new profile on inara? It's the same name as my ps4 account. SKYFIRE-ULTRA.

Those are interesting thoughts. It would be nice if they come from FDev otherwise they are meaningless. This new account will be linked to my existing steam account or to new steam account? PS4 and PC accounts are already linked to the same email. there are many questions that are pure speculations at this point. Everything mentioned so far was aimed at console players with NO EXISTING pc account.

Those things are literally what Frontier has already stated.

"Everything mentioned so far was aimed at console players with NO EXISTING pc account."

The presence or absence of an existing PC account does not matter. The console transfer is completely mutually exclusive to that. It does not matter if a person has ZERO existing PC accounts or three dozen existing PC accounts. This console transfer has no impact on that what so ever. It is literally a brand new free PC account with the same stats as the existing Console account, aside from the few mentioned excaptions.

I don't care for Horizons... I want to play odyssey. It actually works on my pc its an i5-4440 but still works... lol

Since Frop's got you sorted on the first part, I'll take the second.

One of the things the CMs said cannot be transferred over is your CMDR name. You'll have to set that on the PC side when the transfer happens. As long as it's not taken, you can set the same one again, but otherwise you'd have to come up with a new one.

I think this would be seen as a new profile in Inara, and it'd populate appropriately. You'd still be able to see your old profile on Inara exactly as you do now. Since the platforms are different (PS4 and PC), they wouldn't be merged, they'd be two different accounts.

Seems likely, and given that you can continue playing on console with this current construction, you'd want them separate anyway.

ok, I guess im fine starting out new in Odyssey. I know how to make money in elite after playing for 4 years. Too bad this is an issue however that we can't carry over our progress into odyssey! Edit: Thanks for all the help! :)

You don't need to start over, re-read the post that was mentioned in this thread as well.

I would like to correct this - on Inara, the platform doesn't matter (except some commander and squadron name lookups). So, after the console game account transfer to PC, you can link your transferred game account to your existing Inara account without any troubles and just continue using it, keeping the whole history, etc. You just link a "different" account by using the another platform button at the start of the linking process and that's all. No new Inara account is required (assuming it's for the transferred account, not some brand new account with the very different in-game progress). :)

The team are currently looking at a key feature overhaul for 2023, and although I cannot give you any hints as to what this is, I hope it will help allay some concerns that there is no more content coming to Elite Dangerous. There's a lot still to come, and the new major narrative phase will have a part to play in the future, too.

Zac, my friend...thanks for your efforts. This does not at all allay my concerns, however relatively muted those concerns have even become at this point due to the state of everything at this point.

Good luck to the project no matter what, but please stop attempting to normalize an "emperor has no clothes" frame on the truth of the shift in output, communication and experiential quality between the period led by Ed, Sandro and Michael Brookes and today.

That shift has been real, and really unaddressed. What does "looking at a key feature overhaul" even mean? Please realize that this is in fact seen as the corpo-brand-nothingspeak that Frontier has committed to more fervently than anything regarding the Elite franchise, and that we do see that the Emperor is naked.

Again, let's hold a couple of ideas in our minds at the same time; good luck regarding continued substantive development of the project, and this communication is entirely lacking as has been proper development of the game over the past few years.

Thanks for the clarity!

When playing Oddysey a few minutes ago it crashed after taking ten steps! 😑 guess I have to wait a while to get a better pc.

Nothing more needs to be said, because all right thinking players know instinctively what that feature will be.
Don't you get it by now? It's telegraphed clear as day between the lines of Zac's post if you play it backwards while standing on your head - the only change coming to PP is when the Thargoids burn the Bubble in November. No more Powers, no more Powerplay. 😉

But that means Salvation plays Powerplay, since he will save powers by wiping out the Thargoids.

Joining the dots while the sun is at its highest point casts a shadow that reads Salvation is the 12th Power, thus ergo 100% legit Powerplay is getting updated.

These subjects will likely range from ship design, ideas behind core gameplay elements, concepts and more.

I'm sitting here hoping that, since the first item on the dev's list of topics is ship design, they might actually be designing new ships.

Otherwise it'll be more "Frameshift archaeology" ...

I think the key feature overhaul will be planet generation.
More likely to be something like networking than redoing something they recently spent 3 years doing and are still optimising. Actually networking has quite a good shot, there was a lot of surprise that networking / instancing wasn’t enhanced for odyssey.

I think you might be able to refund it if you haven't played.

Regarding your situation now that you have offered new details I can't answer. It's probably worth it to ask support directly.
That might depend a bit on whether it was bought from Frontier or through Steam or Epic, Steam I believe has counted people playing other copies of Elite or betas into the playing of the new package and refusing the refund.

That might be wrong but is essentially what I remember from around the launch of Odyssey with people trying to give it back.
