Dinosaur Behavior Improvements for Evolution 2: Sauropods should be able to fight!

The post below is from Reddit user u/No-Feed-6298 on the Evolution 2 forums and all the ideas below have been requested a lot by the community, especially sauropods being able to fight back and defend themselves (tail whips and stomps) and to adjust pack hunting. These are excellent ideas:

" So I built my own ecosystem in JWE2, and had a lot of fun. I noticed some things that can use major improvements, and I think many who also have made their own ecosystems would agree. Here are some of my recommendations to frontier.
  1. Herbivores need a major buff
Now sometimes the herbivores are able to win, but I find more often than not my carnivores winning majority of fights against even the strongest herbivores. I understand a weaker herbivore losing, but there’s no reason a monster like an Ankylosaurus or Triceratops should be losing majority of the time to a T-Rex when in real life they would of been a major fight for a T-Rex. Please frontier, make the herbivores stronger, it makes the fight more interesting
2. Carnivores need to fail hunts more
I find that my carnivores almost never fail a hunt. I had an instance where a T-Rex was able to catch up to a Gallimimus that was so far away it should of been able to get away. I think hunts are too easy for carnivores and should be toned down a bit. It would make watching hunts more exciting because right now, there’s almost no tension because I already know there’s a 90% chance the carnivore is gonna be successful.
3. Sauropods should not die this easily
It seems Sauropods are just a free meal for all carnivores. I think they should be able to fight back, and realistically most carnivores would never take down any of these animals. I had an Albertosaurus just non stop hunt down a diplodocus until it bleed out. It’s ridiculous they can’t defend themselves and how easily they bleed out after being hunted. Please frontier, make them be able to defend themselves and not be killed so easily.
4. Pack hunting needs to be nerfed
Seems the pack hunting is incredibly overpowered, to the point to where no carnivore or herbivore is any match for 3 or more raptors. They need a nerf, and shouldn’t even be a match for the big carnivores/herbivores. They should only be able to take big dinos if they’re already low on health."

Agreed!

It would be hard to animate a diplodocus hitting a tyrannosaurus with its tail in a naturally looking way and instead by having a random chance of the herbivore turning around and make a stand against the predator deterring the carnivore away without physical contact.

u say it would be hard to animate like jwe2 devs are amateurs or something, alot of things are hard to do and doesnt mean u cant have it in the game.

I was kind of meaning in a natural looking way where it wasn't something that it turned ninety degrees in a split second and started whipping crazily around. I do not doubt Frontier's ability to do make some of the best animations around, I was just trying to ease off pressure. Maybe this idea works better, I was kind of thinking though that sauropods could do also maybe a kick to carnivore 50% of the time to deter them away. With the carnivore losing a bunch of stamina and health every time it gets kicked. Your are right I should have been more clear on my statement.
