What if all we have left are just last 3 animals packs?

Let’s do it for fun.

If all we have left are just 3 animal packs what animals should they contain? Name those 21 habitat and 3 exibit species and try to put them into 3 cohesive animal packs.

What are your thoughts?

What animals would you like to see for the anniversary if any?

Personally I would simplify things and go with:

Carnivores pack:
Leopard
Tasmanian devil
Maned Wolf
Wolverine
Fossa
Walrus
Coati
Ex: Cobra

Herbivores pack:
Przewalski horse
Porcupine
Gibbon
Red River hog
Sloth
Wombat
Tree kangaroo
Ex: Frilled lizard

Anniversary animal: Gray crowned crane

Ground birds pack
Emu
Secretary bird
Shoebill
Great white pelican
Ground hornbill
Saddle billed stork
Great Malayan argus pheasant
Ex: Velied chameleon

or alternatively:

Endangered species pack
Black rhino
Lion tailed macaque
Père David’s deer
Scimitar oryx
Addax
Barbary hyena
Siamang

I dont think that that would be a preferable situation for frontier or us, but here goes nothing

Desert pack:
Hamadyras Baboon
Emu
Wombat
Collared Peccary
Scymitar Horned Onix
Saiga
Dromedary Camel

Starting things of we have our most underrepresented biome of the game, the deserts. I tried to feature many different kinds of animals and settled for these seven, 3 from north africa, 2 from australia, one from the cold deserts of central asia and one from the deserts of mexico and the south of the US.
While there are a few other desert animals i would like to see, for example the white nosed coati, these 7 span many different groups with a bigger focus on herbivores, lacking any of the infamous cats, bears and dogs. While i wouldnt mind a sandcat or a caracal, i just feel like for the last packs, they are less needed for a general strong roster.

Mountains Pack:
Himalayan Monal
Takin
Spectacle Bear
Red Howler Monkey
Alpine Marmot
Rocky Mountain Goat
Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby

Speaking of underrepresented, we need way more mountainozs animals.
Again i tried to cover many different mountain ranges, from the dusty red rocks of australia to the lush mountainous clowded rainforest in south america, over the mighty himalaya to the rocky mountains and alps. We got a bird, monkey, bear, goat, rodent, macropod, second cowlooking goat, so i would say literally each niche besides a reptile coverd in this super diverse pack.
Special attention to the rocky mountain goat, as they are by far my favorite of the missing goat species due to their very unique and distinct look. I love the square headed goofs.

For the hypothetical Aniversery animal, i would choose a flamingo. I dont particulary care which one, but i think i would pick the american for its smaller size and striking red colors. Also a great fit for an american wetland section.

Woodlands Pack:
Racoon
Red Deer
Wild Boar
Red Fox
Tasmanian Devil
Bennets Wallaby
Amurleopard

Closing things of, weve got a secretive completionist pack, tying a neat bow around europe with 3 and a half animals that are pretty much essential for our wildparks, but also spread far and wide across the world, bringing a little bit of representation to pretty much all of the northern hemisphere.
Australia also welcomes its last two must have species and after having grown by 5 animals across these packs can hopefully lay to rest as a finally satisfying region, with the only major exclusions being the echidna and the tree kangaroo.
Talking about completion, what better way then to close it all of with a leopard?
I might not be his biggest fan, but he certanly deserves the inclusion and fits perfectly into this pack as its primary asian but not european headliner for all those anti europeans.
Quite cheeky, putting the Leopard and the tasmanian devil with the "boring" european animals, allmost as if that will make people not nag on an europe focused pack.

Overall, i like these three packs and i do believe they would grant us a good enough send of, but hopefully we wont have to face an end of support soon, even though i still wouldnt mind these packs, frontier take notes ;)

Let’s do it for fun.
That sentence does not correlate with the title 😭

I'm super bad at planning packs, so I'll give you all a list of animals and you can sort it for fun ;) To make up for it, I spare exhibit animals and you can have a free try. :p

So, 21 habitat species it is.

  1. Crested Procupine
  2. Maned Wolf
  3. Tree Kangaroo
  4. Sloth
  5. Squirrel Monkey
  6. Gibbon
  7. Amur Leopard
  8. South American Coati
  9. Asian Lion
  10. Tanuki
  11. Racoon

Yes, I realize this list doesn't really correlate with my meta wishlist maybe, but well, honestly, with some animals my needs shift, others are a defintate must have. Though I'm much more chill with animal choice by now, it must be said. Especially since we got a propper Otter. Still... a life without procupines and tanukis is possible but not enjoyable and my Tierpark Murmeldorf would really like to replace their Binturongs which thematically much more fitting racoons.

Glad I could be the helpful 😍

Just please give me the Red River hog as the anniversary animal and I would be fulfilled and happy.

You used many different animals than me but all of them work perfectly and I love your ideas.

Especially Asian lion and Gray langur. Both of them would make a hell of a Indian section at my zoo’s.

I have a soft spot for indian sections, due to Hannover having one that is sooo beautiful, yet too small.
I'm super fine with the red river hog as an anniversary animal :) I just don't believe we will get an anniversary animal, to be fair.

Honestly, my main reason for the Asian lion would be, that Frontier does waaaay better models now than they did during base game and we reached a point were I can not really deal with the cartoonic lion we have anymore. For the longest time I thought it was fine and defended it, but now... I just can't anymore 😅

Instead of the totally new mechanics in the next update I would love them to update and upgrade all the animals that really needs it from the base game.

I really don’t want planet zoo 2 I just want the base models to be as good as the current dlc animals. And I think it can be done, we just need to let them know it would be a good idea.

1. Looks
Lion
- looks
Tigers - looks
Cheetah - looks
Snow leopard - looks
Bears - looks
Wolf - looks
Hyena - looks
African buffalo - looks
Zebra - looks
Malayan tapir - looks
Jaguar - looks

2. Size
American buffalo
- size
Camel - size
Indian elephant - size

3. Mechanics/movements
Orangutan
- mechanics
Gorilla - mechanics

That would mean one dlc less btw. Why revisit old animals, when you can make new one and sell it?

I get your point but also, why not?

I am talking about free update that they make it anyway.

Maybe it would be the best way to refresh the game and give it the new spark. Because we all know that new animals don’t get the work done for that matter as much as they could.

Great list, but I'm fine with the Zebra - would rather have them touch the Jaguar instead. Honestly, all cats up until the SEA pack are really... not that good. And the Orang needs a look and movement / mechanic improvement ^^
And yes, omg, Camel and Buffalo size, please.

Also: Instead of major updates, I'd love them to address the ridicolous hitboxes and please the issues for some animals to climb the smallest of steps. Hitboxes and traversable area got worse and worse.
