Newcomer / Intro Imperial rank - does it have to be boring?

nope stopped burning thursday, entered repairing state..
Thanks for the tip, BTW! I did some extraction missions (I think I flew three times back and forth) and then there were no missions anymore, so I went back to Ngalinn system... It was fun though... My Anaconda had no heat sink and I did not want to bother with getting one, so the whole thing was quite intensive... (y):)

It's purdy ship 🥰

Now, what are you going to do with the 'bigger girl with curves', as The Pilot put it.

:)

I have already started engineering it for PVE combat, but maybe it is a futile attempt... I have run out of some materials, so I need to trade them, to be able to finish the engineering... But for a ship of its size, it is not bad in terms of speed... The turn rate is horrible and the distributor really leaves a lot to be desired... But 4 beams and three multi cannons are interesting... The engineering choices are different than with my FDL or Python, due to the distributor...

If you think turning is bad wait until you try the brakes!

If it's two large and two medium beams with efficient engineering that could just about work on a grade 5 charge enhanced power distributor. Two large efficient beams on a Krait certainly don't give that same power distributor trouble with 2 or 3 pips on weapons. Let's see if you can build a Cutter that will change my mind about how entertaining this ship can be in combat 😁

This is my current loadout... It is a work in progress, I am now working on engineering... And I am not taking it too scientifically, I just throw stuff at it and test how it works... :)
Advice welcome! (y)

OK 4 medium beam lasers should be fine on the distributor by the time they are efficient engineered. At least two of them should get thermal vent to keep things cool. If you can hit anything with the two fixed beam lasers you're a better combat pilot than me. If this is a combat ship, the second class 8 slot is begging for a shield cell bank and I prefer 'specialisrd' engineering on these for extra shield hit points rather than rapid charge.
I'd go overcharged and corrosive effect on one of the smaller multi canons and go overcharged with autoloader effect on the others. Actually you're a bit low on thermal damage here, so incendury rounds on one multi canon (but not the huge) that fires at the same time as the lasers a good idea. Maybe another efficient beam laser instead. The shield and shield booster engineering will suck up a lot of materials. You probably know the drill on balancing resistances, but two shield boosters engineered for thermal resistance with supercspacitors and the rest heavy duty with supercspacitors combined with reinforced shield engineering plus hicap should be about right.
Give the thrusters grade 5 dirty tuning plus drag and this big girl will out run any other large ship with combat potential. The Clipper doesn't count as I consider it a medium with big wings that needs a large landing pad.

Beam laser engineering done... And i agree with your expertise - I went with Efficient, three of them have Thermal Shock and one of them has Thermal Vent. Went to try it out in a Low CZ and had no issues... Distributor holding fine, was able to fire for long time (as long as I was able to hold the enemy in my sights) and was stripping shields of my enemies quite easily... (BTW, regarding the fixed beams - I usually sneak behind my target up close and try to light him up from there... I am usually able to hold my target in sights long enough, but when Im against some nimble oponent, sure the fixed beam is useless, at least with my skills :) )

Engines - Dirty drives 5 now, just need to visit the engineer to get the drag. But already able to achieve over 470m/s

Multicannons - all at overcharged 5 now, just need to visit engineer to get the corrosive...

To be continued...

Remember corrosive doesn't stack so pick other experimentals for the rest of them.

Happy to report, that my Cutter is not bad at all in bounty hunting... Today I have survived a wing of 3 Anacondas (Dangerous). The fight started with me at 100% shields and ended with remaining shields at 17%...

Also happy to report, that the SLF is actually very good at stripping shields of my enemies... My pilot is still Harmless, but even a this level he is quite good wingman... :)

That must have been a real slow motion fight, I always throttle way back and get real close to their belly.

Sure, you can't compare it to my FDL... But it was not as bad as you would think... To defeat there Anacondas firing at you at the same time was quite thrilling experience...

I then scored victories against Clippers, FDLs, Pythons etc... I was ignoring small ships because of their manouvering speed... Except for one Eagle, which I have fought in SLF...

Here is the Silver Archangel doing what she does best. Earning me 100 million credits in 15 minutes knocking out a couple of those 50 million mining rush missions for silver that I can buy. I've had this ship about 7 months, and frankly when it comes to generating credits to buy the Fleet Carrier I now have, and fetching tritium fuel to be able to jump it, the Cutter is indispensable. It feels nice doing the somewhat mundane task of fetching and carrying stuff in this ship. A Type 9 could do the same job, but I wouldn't enjoy doing it. I can fetch 750t+ of tritium per run in the Cutter. Every fleet carrier owner needs a Type 9 or a Cutter.
