The other day...I played a bit of ArmA 3 and clicked the 'instant action' multiplayer button, which I hadn't before, and found myself at a base, in the dark of night, hearing a squad leader (another player) instructing the pilots where to go and then ordering me onto a chopper, and off we went into battle. It was a blast. Then I played a mission and it was set in the day. While everything was fantastic, one thing stood out clearly, as always in the past. And thats that the LOD is not good. Im not sure if that's only on my system, or in general. There's a lot of amazing detail up close, but then if you look in the distance, stuff looks like it's from the 90's and any cover the foliage would provide is almost gone or reduced to twigs, so enemies are right out in the open almost. I'd say thats bad except at times, in the mission, it felt like that big advantage was needed for the win. So I went to find an ArmA 3 thread to do a rant, but the closest one was near 20 sheets ago. But in one of them, someone mentioned ArmA 4. I did a little search on the webs and found this...
