Update 12 moved to 7 June

Is anyone getting 60fps+ in settlements?
Yep, I'm pretty certain I do.

I'll record the next foray into a High CZ (preferably one with fires) - and played in 4K - then link it.

I stopped getting 40 FPS in settlements before getting rid of my 2080 Super, as one of the updates managed to change things quite radically (I think it was the one where AI pathing was 'fixed'), it even got rid of the, very predictable, extraction settlement cyclic drops, for me, down to 9 FPS.

They realized that five hours after posting the "end of may" release date on their website?

If this happens once, sure, maybe something happened. If it happens all the time, every time, it's just not being very good at some things.

Again, it looks like a pretty okay update at best so not in a rush anyway. But they make themselves look like clowns. Again.
Depents on how you look at the story. Until the decision was made by someone or a team to set the release date of U12 to June 7th the CM's had the duty to say "U12 is comming end of May".
Making this vage statement until May 19th - for me it was clear that FD didnt want to name a specific date as there are some uncertenties that hindered them.
So I was not surprised by the shift, but its good base for some drama and to unload frustration against FD.
Of cause FD could have waited 2-3 days to announce the delay and the specific date so it would look more planned and organised. But the outcome would be exactly the same.
But ofcause we can continue to discuss why they didnt announce this 5 hours sooner... or we can just accept that the decision was made a view hour later and there was no deep thought that they look like a clown if they forward the info as soon as possible.
Or they new they would look like a clown for stating this 5 hours later but they would also named clowns if the announced the delay 2 days later - in this case why care at all. Or maybe I am a clown writting about this...

Nothing new is happening. The update is delayed. 3 months of development and nothing grandiose did not bring us. Goodbye Frontier, I'm gone to Star Citizen

Indeed i have seen similar from others and to be honest i went from a Vega 64 (5 year old gpu) to the rx 6800xt with a bump in performance but not the reasonably expected bump you should expect from a cutting edge gpu, added to that its not plugged into a potato, the rest of the system is equally high end.

I don't know what causes it mate apart from poor optimisation. And i have been struggling through it same as everyone and indeed yourself waiting for the the fix to come and like i say, they have nailed their flag to the mast now. These next few upgrades are performance and optimisation. Been happy to wait for it to come and would have been happy to wait longer. But they have said this is what it is, and just like all the youtubers. DSEA included im just out if they don't get this sorted. How many influential youtubers has ED lost at this point due to Odyssey? I mean all of the big ones thats a fact. SOme new guys coming in now who are decent, one of them i saw an Australian guy i think was using a bloody 3090! a unicorn GPU and a 32 core cpu... 30 frames in a settlement and he said his settings were on low in the vid. Like what

But thats fine. we have suffered through it. ANd we have been here a lont time supporting Fdev, cos fair credit where its due, they have always been slow but sdeady and they get there. Im just all out of patience at this point. They got me for the next 2 updates, and i know they dont care a jot about losing little ole me, im not an important youtuber or influencer etc etc. But i am the average gamer with a healthy credit card and i have paid my dues to Fdev

The very least they can do for me and everyone else is provide a game that actually runs on their very own recommended specifications and runs really well on a monster rig such as mine. It's just not that much to ask. I don't want new content! i dont want to run around on ships, i dont want them to do anything but let me play the game we already have and have it on a reasonable level of performance. And i bet you im not alone!
The performance is still very different depending on the planet and settlement. I also think that there are some caps and some bottlenecks - you see some places the GPU is at 100% usage - but in others its far lower. Often fps dont get better even if you lowe the GFX settings or the resolution or use AMD FSR or SS below 1. Ground CZ are one example, you can set everything to low, it doesn't get you better fps, only the GPU usage goes lower.
I dont expect do see great improvements on fps in the next updates, I would be surprised if something would give a dramatic boost. After 11 Updates I can imagine that the biggest problems are solved and at some point the maximum is done that is possible with this version of the engine. I guess its more finetuning now. But it would be very nice if I am wrong and we will see settlements, concourses and CZ running stable at 90fps.

Thanks for the information. I think SC has a freefly week. Have fun.
I can understand why players prefer other games that have other features that are missing in ED - why not.
I am not so sure you will be very satisfied with SC if you dont like "delays" - I heard the word "DELAY" as reached a different level and meaning there.

I might be confused how it works over there...did she just wake up and decide there was going to be a holiday or is there a bit of advance notice? Not saying it's not the right thing to do, for sure, just poor planning and makes them look a bit incompetent imo.
Been well advertised, so a very poor excuse.
At least there is no live stream for them to dodge questions this week.

I don't feel the need. I assumed Dooguk was talking about Odyssey, since this isn't the SC thread.
No, they were replying to someone who was stating they were 'off' to SC... Which is hilarious if one considers EDO to be poorly optimised and Frontier a bit 'interesting' in delivering their updates.

(They did quote the poster in the post you quoted)

Greetings Commanders,

In light of the upcoming bank holidays, Update 12's release date is moving to 7 June. This is to ensure the development team are available to monitor the changes post-launch. Thank you for understanding!

In case you missed it, we discussed some of the expected changes in our latest episode of Frameshift Live:
Man, it was quick this time around... ;)
