Apology accepted, but don't let it happen again.Sorry I've been off for a while..
Grow upDid you just fail to deliver at your own roadmap at the very first item in it?
What the hell? lol.
You guys are geniuses! Breaking new heights at being failures to deliver.
This should be the thing you were looking for. Went out some time prior to this post.Delays happen. I get it and that's fine.
But could you just give us a quick little blurb, or bullet points, about what is going to be in Update 12 instead of asking us to watch a two hour video to try and find the 5-15 minutes worth of "news" we want.
Sigh This is why 20 years ago I switched to reading the websites of news channels like ABC, NBC, CNN, etc... because I could quick read about the relevant news to mean, get more details, and skip the fluff. Then they started introducing more and more videos and reduce the writing to the point that it's often just as pointless as watching the news. Don't even get me started on Youtube...
I'm fine if people want to watch that content, but for those of us who actually value our time and are busy, how about a summary? Quick memo?
Greetings Commanders,
In light of the upcoming bank holidays, Update 12's release date is moving to 7 June. This is to ensure the development team are available to monitor the changes post-launch. Thank you for understanding!
In case you missed it, we discussed some of the expected changes in our latest episode of Frameshift Live:
I have noticed when I was watching D2EA playing that settlements brought him down to the 40s, like you describe too, and I'm pretty sure he's running a hi-end rig, the weird thing is that I have similar performance in settlements with a mobile RTX2060. It sort of looks like to me that space seems to be functioning as it should and GPUs deal with it as you would expect according to their capability, but as soon as we go to a settlement it's like the FPS is capped to ~40fps for everyone, no matter what the GPU. If that is the case, it really makes me wonder what would actually make that happen? I mean, my settlement performance should be reasonably proportionally lesser to yours according the differing specs, but it seems that it's not. That's the conundrum. Is anyone getting 60fps+ in settlements?in space hundreds literally. 2xx but i play on a 2k 144hz monitor so its limited to that. Which is maxed at 144fps in space, all over. And to be expected on a rig this powerful.
on the ground in combat zones 40s sometimes worse with no reasonable reason as to why. And i have lowered the resolution to 1080 and played around infinitely with the graphics settings, FSR etc. to get some bumps in FPS but at a massive cost to quality. And to be perfectly honest mate. with the level of rig i have, i shouldn't be expected to have to lower my settings after 11 updates, hundred upon hundreds of fixes and patches and not a jot done to the performance.
Now that said, i always expected that, its fair to say Fdev had a long list of thigs to fix and they have been doing a fine job. No complaints.
But they have nailed their flag to the pole and said these next few updates are about performance and optimisation et al.
And its certainly not unreasonable to expect that exactly that/ Performance and optimisation. and not go from hundreds of FPS to sub 40 if i want to land and do some ground combat. Or really and truly a very long time player i am genuinely out the gap. And will indeed sell my account without hesitation. I might as well make back some of the money i spent on this GPU. i can always come back to ED down the line if it ever comes right.
Indeed i have seen similar from others and to be honest i went from a Vega 64 (5 year old gpu) to the rx 6800xt with a bump in performance but not the reasonably expected bump you should expect from a cutting edge gpu, added to that its not plugged into a potato, the rest of the system is equally high end.I have noticed when I was watching D2EA playing that settlements brought him down to the 40s, like you describe too, and I'm pretty sure he's running a hi-end rig, the weird thing is that I have similar performance in settlements with a mobile RTX2060. Sure, but you gotta admit being caught off guard by a nationwide holiday is... not spectacularly brilliant.I love this place.

Bank holiday is on June 2nd, which is a Thursday. The Thursday before that is this Thursday. My guess is that they were hoping to get the update done by this Thursday, but realized that it won't be ready until, say, next Tuesday. Since releasing it on the June 2nd server maintenence isn't feasible thanks to the holiday, it makes sense to push it back until the following week.
They said they didn't want to say so they wouldn't be upset if it didn't work out and a feature was removed from the update. Keep quiet so you don't have to apologize for failing. It goes something like this.Delays happen. I get it and that's fine.

That's no good it's someone's birthday thenHooray for everything. \o/
let's just round it off to Christmas...
Flimley
I got you, bro.Delays happen. I get it and that's fine.

Last week's Frameshift Live revealed some of the first information on the upcoming Update 12, as well as an in-depth interview with Senior Designer Tom Kewell, who discussed all things missions in Odyssey. If you can't watch the episode, however, here's a quick summary of the things we revealed for Update 12 so far:
This is merely scratching the surface when it comes to the amount of work put in to Update 12, so stay tuned in the coming weeks for more information
- Performance and optimisation improvements
- Access to the menu wheel while sat down
- Ability to speak to the bartender while sat down
- Ability to use the screen while in the Fleet Carrier owner's seat
- Black Markets will now offer more for stolen goods
- A huge number of bugfixes across both Odyssey and Horizons
- An illegal variant of the Raid mission type.
- Addition of shipyard terminal to detention centre so that players can recall their ship
They realized that five hours after posting the "end of may" release date on their website?I think this idea fits the facts pretty well:
That's true. Plus it's bath day for many also. That's no good it's someone's birthday then
