Fleet carrier jump times up to 1 hour or more now , what happened ?

Aye, i'm storing some tritium on my carriers, 5 thousands tons or less on each of them, just in case FDevs Narrative's pulling some tricks on the tritium reserves

Yep, I'm half-expecting that too.

Don't really care, though.
I can mine Trit' if I need to get it running and then it'll mostly just get parked in my usual mining spot so I can fill it up with ore and then jump it to a market once a month, or whatever.

My first plot attempt brought up 2+ hrs scheduled for jump. Broke it off, had 2 failed attemts after that and finally the usual 15 mins after the 4th try.

Worked two times in a row like this, had to stop by to get a Bar and Vista Genomics installed.

it is true , carriers are on all platforms but they are different server versions , different server version send data to other server versions about the movement of carriers , the planets are different the client is different the server is different
Not quite how it works.
Carriers are treated effectively as stations.
Which are common between platforms.

The 'galaxy' (in terms of what is where) is a single thing. Not separate by platform.

The individual game versions all affect the same galaxy. Whether feeding data on work for factions, or receiving data on what assets are where.

Basically each client is an interface onto the common centralised galaxy.

The xbox and ps4 don't work on a 'mirror galaxy'

Now they have their own authentication and matchmaking server by platform which covers instancing etc. But... Is one common galaxy.

I see , I read that upon launch of odyssey there was an issue where when a carrier jump happened the odyssey server was telling the horizon server that the carrier was jumping then the horizon spoke to odyssey then back and forth until the server crashed , thats what caused the server outage at launch so thats where I got the idea that there are separate servers

just plotted a jump back from the local CG and my carrier says 1 hour 30 minutes left till jump what happened ?
Anyone else noticed this or just me?
Almost all the carriers were trying to stack in one place and distorted the jump server matrix, possibly.

Heh, that's kind of ironic...

I bought my FC on Friday night and immediately jumped it to Beta Trianguli Australis, where I was sourcing my Tritium, to start loading it with more Tritium.

Now the CG is over, I want to take it back to an FC-vendor system so I can upgrade some of the services... but I can't find an FC-vendor system with any free slots cos, presumably, all those systems are full of newly-minted FCs. :ROFLMAO:

You don't need to be in the vendor system to add services, a Fleet Carrier Admin System is what you want, there are plenty of those around.

Hmmm,

Have the admin systems always been around?

I recall, after I first bought an FC, that I had the same issue and jumped back to the vendor-system to get new services installed.
Can't remember if that was because I had to or if it was because it was easier than finding an alternative though.

I guess the admin systems are a good idea though.
Having systems which won't be full of FCs by default, but where you can get them modified, is certainly useful.

Just had a look at the FC Owner's Handbook and I see that, on the page related to Installing Services it says "Carriers must be situated in a system with a Carrier Construction Dock to install or remove services".
No mention of admin systems there.

It’s not too hard to see why it’s happening and why it will only get worse. Credits flow so easily they are meaningless. I’m sure the current CG, not an isolated case, has allowed many people to achieve trade elite V in a few days, and also provide many people with enough credits to buy a FC and set it up for years of upkeep. This, combined with super congested areas, no traffic control, and an ineffective method to decommission fc’s makes the future bleak for anyone who would like to see this situation get better. As time goes on gridlock will spread.

Interesting to note that the steam charts show no unusual rise in concurrent players over the weekend. Which means the very predictable movement of carriers for the CG wasn't planned for or modeled in any way. Or was ignored. Or maybe some entirely different unexpected monster has suddenly appeared behind scenes.
