Python almost impossible to use for manual cargo scooping
Misaligned approach to docking port

One of the devs tried to land a Cutter on a FC using the dc...
Thanks, sometimes all you can do is laugh, and laugh and laugh . . .
I suppose, on the bright side, we get another day of flight time without new bugs, yes there are still bugs, but they are our bugs and we know them well and our work-arounds, well, sort of work. Tomorrow who knows? Then again, it is Elite Dangerous
So, guess it's time to log on and satisfy my space OCD - garrison supplies to deliver, rush mining jobs to cash in, damn the bugs, full speed ahead . . .

PS: Thanks FDev for pressing forward, never, never give up o7

along with the other effects of reduced thruster performance on everything.

Docking port 90 snap rotation on exit from SC (misaligned hologram)
I haven't seen that problem for absolutely ages.

Python almost impossible to use for manual cargo scooping
I think that is a feature.

I feel for them on some of these as they are not a universal issue, ive never had a problem with Auto Dock on my cutter in ports or fleet carrier.
However it very rarely auto launches successfully from starports.

I could go a week or 10 days without having an issue. Then the next week it's every single time. There will be a lot of traffic and for some reason any time auto tries to leave a smaller ship comes flying in causing the auto dock to suddenly reverse, raise up and bash me into the wall.

Over and over and over again.

That's why I don't do cargo with my cutter anymore. I just mine with it and manually dock.

Auto-docking with FCs on Cutters works great for me: first it lines up with one side of the docking pads so I can get a good view, then it slowly arcs over to the other side of the docking pads - so you get nice views of both flanks of the FC. Then it magisterially (and slowly) centres itself over the pad and lands. It takes a few minutes - but what price immersion? :sneaky:

Yes, the latest version is a show-off!

Indeed. Some of us are certainly already starting to dream of a flawless U12, while this game will never be 100% bug-free (as is usually the case with complex software). U12 will not change anything significant in this respect. At best a few of the known bugs less, but then also with new bugs that are not immediately discovered on day one. So enjoy the illusion while it is still alive.

Patience is all you need...

Don't try to download the update. That's impossible. Only try to realize the truth.

There is no update.

I thought the docking computer failure was a feature..... it was certainly a thing in the past elite games with a definite chance of destruction (iirc a faster processor in your computer helped things back then)

(only joking about the above, it should work really, or if not then maybe FD should just lore in that some ships cant have docking computers and remove the option from those ships if it is too hard to fix- i dont use em myself so maybe i am under considering their importance.)

as for the python, not sure it is a bug, its just the nature of the ships design. it most definitely is possible to scoop with one and to do it reliably. it is harder than most but it is down to the shape of the ship and the position of the scoop. The python is the king of the medium sized multirole, I guess it needs some limitations to give other ships some utility. Unlike the docking computer I can, I have and I do still scoop with mine from time to time, admittedly i try not to make a habit of it any more now it is no longer my only ship

Hey don't knock it i once had a docking computer attempt to ram through the bottom of my FC to get to a landing pad 😂

It's a shame the NPC crew we hire can't dock and launch ships. An elite pilot should be able to dock your ship really quick.
the fact of the matter is we dont really have npc crew. I really wish we did..... there are lots of cool things they could add RP wise if we did have them, and indeed FD themselves back in the day detailed what they considered a bare minimum which they considered acceptable for said crew.... it was a great idea and i hope one day they reconsider their decision to cutting room floor them.
