Elite Dangerous: Odyssey | Update 12 Update Notes

I usually only use ADC for the last 5% or so...on the ship[s that actually have it anyway...
A bit like the technique I used to use on a friend's BBC Model B back in 1984.

At first he had the cassette version, so engaging the Docking Computer immediately docked your ship. Then he acquired a 5¼ inch floppy drive and got the disk version of Elite where the Docking Computer would take minutes to approach and dock with the station, all the while playing the Blue Danube Waltz out of the Model B's tinny little speaker. The "workaround" was to zoom towards the slot at full speed then engage the Docking Computer at the last possible second to dock quickly and maximise my playtime.

Yes, I own two of them and they're very much a means to an end, as all the large ships are in my opinion. I certainly don't find them as much fun to fly as their medium and small cousins, but I guess that's intentional balancing by FDev.

As to whether the more recent thruster changes were by design or another unintended change by FDev who knows? They're definitely using the Oil Tanker Flight Model now though it seems ;)
I don't know, my Cutter felt like it always has in the tritium CG. It has always had terrible vertical and lateral thrusters, and I haven't noticed them getting even worse. It is fun to fly when undocking. Two boosts to get out of masslock, take that, T9 ! Landing is a different story, though that's just a matter of practice. Just fly the thing like playing chess. Anticipate the path you want it to move along and initiate the necessary maneuvers much earlier.

The cutter has weak lateral thrusters. So, if it's on the right of the pad, it tries thrusting to the left, passes the pad to the left side, then tries to compensate to the right, etc. It's like watching a pendulum...
Surely that means the thrusters are too strong if it's over shooting, or being burned for too long?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but before (was it in Horizons?) ADC handled ship PIPS, too. This is no longer the case.

I've never had an issue with docking anything from an Eagle to a Cutter on a FC in Horizons (don't really need Odyssey when you're out on the edge of the galaxy)
