Surely that means the thrusters are too strong if it's over shooting, or being burned for too long?
It's difficult to anticipate when to stop your lateral burn and start burning the opposite way to stem the lateral movement. The gate between "changed over too early" and "changed over too late" is very small. You either end up doing stacks of teeny mini-burns and taking forever to line up, or overshooting and having to start all over again from the opposite side.

Oh - and simply "letting go" with FA on does not use full opposite thruster to stop you so the inertia is even more prevalent than swapping direction manually.
 
No you cant. That does not count. And i and many others dont have VR.

You definitely can in VR, with the only caveat that you need the real life room space for it. And you need to not be creeped out by your own headless body sitting at its place. Aside from all that though, you don't need VR to look around your shoulder, and fixing cockpit stuff doesn't necessarily mean they fixed stuff beyond reach behind your back. Most of the cockpit is still in front of you.

Every time I exit SC without facing the FC vertically, I go "Oh boy..."
 
correct - I don't use auto launch but auto dock works fine in Horizons (I tend to avoid Oddity).
Odyssey is the only Elite I know.

From experience, the auto launch always messes up when you are doing other things and not watching it's awesome skills. If you don't watch, it goes and head-butts the station wall repeatedly as if to say "Why me? Why me?"

Autodock uses 4 PIPs in ENGINE. And egineering is G5 with exp effect.

Wait a momment, it's something unclear here! My Cutter (also Dirty G5, Drag Drives) never change any PIPs during auto dock/launch. If I set engines to 0 it will stay like this. Is it something in my settings? But independent from all this settings, sometimes it's ok, and sometimes not. Empty ship has problems with auto-launch, and full (704 t) many times has no problems!
 
I only did low CZ and it perfectly unlocked.

You need Combat Zones, not Combat Ground Missions.
This is exactly the problem that is not stated in this game! How do I know what exactly is meant? If you haven't developed the game yourself? It just says "Surface combat Mission" thats all!!! You mean this??? ->
