Elite Dangerous: Odyssey | Update 12 Update Notes

When booking an Apex and selecting a settlement from the left hand menu (in my case a mission), it now skips having to select the body as a destination and zooms in on the settlement right away.

Initial FPS when exiting the glide actually seems worse than before. Running around in a settlement feels slightly smoother in a sense, but I'm still getting the same FPS as before U12 (at least according to the in-game counter).

As far as I can see, mostly small stuff. I really like a lot of the new Odyssey missions, but the things that regularly spoil my fun are probably not addressed. I don't quite understand why FDev doesn't take care of the very obvious and embarrassing bugs first. Before that, I don't see much point in getting bogged down in tweaking.
Possibly because if they got involved trying to fix the big intractable bugs and not releasing fixes for a long time the forums start complaining that they are doing nothing and the game is dead and we should all leave and play something else. Also depending on what you do in the game some of the bugs have little or no impact on you but tweaks especially to performance can be more wide reaching. For example mission fixes etc have little effect on me as I rarely do missions.

I think I'm seeing some "Z-fighting" in the CMD-building of a large military settlement, on both the ground floor and first floor.

Also, the new HUD element in the lower left corner firstly has a darker hue than the other items (might be intended), but also stays visible when in stations and outposts (might also be intended).

Did the mission giver portraits render correctly after a hyperspace jump?
They didn't even render correctly before:

Anyone else using the Frontier Launcher having issues downloading the update? Despite several restarts my launcher doesn't get past the "Preparing for Update", it's been like this for over 15 minutes now

I was just about to post that I was getting better framerates inside the Coriolis station, so I thought I'd disembark to see if the improvements were noticeable on foot.

They were at first but then as I exited the elevator the fps tanked and after getting up from a seat in the bar they dropped again. Walking to the elevator from my ship I was getting ~88 fps. Walking back to my ship from the elevator it was ~26 fps.

Framerates were much improved with no big drops in the Fleet Carrier (y)

I thought I read somewhere that Odyssey owners can uninstall Horizons if they don't plan on using it and just have an Odyssey install. Is this true? If so, it might save you some time with future updates.
I don’t know if you can do that but I have sometimes taken a week or more before bothering to update Horizons.
