🐾 Planet Zoo - Update 1.10 coming 21 June 🐾

Great news! This really seems to be a pack and update with a whole lot of community wishes fulfilled! I'm all in for more guest interaction and I think the education stations are an amazing addition! Would be even better if they were less themed or more customizable, but they are very cute and I think it will be possible to build around them. They are going to make the guests more alive and them being for kids especially makes me hope we'll get more playground stuff or other acitvities for adults in the future as well.

Sniffing behaviour sounds really great, to enhance interaction on the animal side. And I'm happy the new climbing frame is indeed modular! Also very convenient to complete the counters for all shop types, and OMG SMALL HABITAT GATES YESSSSS!

My take was that the sound boards did not link to an existing habitat or animal - they're pre-programmed. So, it'll be random compared to what you actually have in the zoo.
I dunno, I feel like that'll ruin the immersion, though. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it shouldn't be hard for sounds to link to these soundboards, kinda like how we can choose sounds for speakers, but automatic

Awesome update Team.

Can we however please get the following in sandbox mode ??? Its been long requested

1. All food bowls and food enrichtments and Water bowls etc always full.
2. Refresh animal market without the need to adopt an animal just to refresh, just let us refresh until we get the animal we like and want.

Also ATM machines and vending machines still seem to break down at times even though we turned that off

In zoos, especially lions often roar together for a long time, manly males when there are several. It would be a shame not to add this chorus effect to the lions. The roar is heard from afar and creates an extraordinary sensation. This long, deep, territorial roar is not even now present in the male lions of the game.

This update sounds great! Very happy for the animal sniffing behavior. Also as the above poster mentioned with the animal vocalizations could lions be included in this new behavior as well? I’m sure most people have heard the distinct roars lions use to communicate and announce their territory. This would be amazing if it could be replicated in game.

This will be a nice update. It doesn't sound like there's one "big" feature coming, but several smaller features, that will also be welcome. And it will actually be animal-oriented instead of something for the guests - not that that's not a good thing too, but enhancing our animals also has its place and time. Looking forward it it, but will seem like a long wait!

I really want to stress how this update brings Planet Zoo further into a direction I really like, and how community-feedback oriented the update appears.

Having more interactive education options are great, and I would really like to see more similar features in the future (I'm still dreaming about interactive education boards with quizzes and puzzles or educational cinemas:D).
Also having the guests take photos with the animals will make them feel so much more interested in the actual zoo rather than mere entertainment-seeking bots.
The new habitat gates are also much appreciated on my part - the barrier system really benefits from further updates as it started to feel a bit outdated compared to the rest of the game
The animal choruses sound wonderful, I can not stress enough how much I appreciate new features that make the animals seem more naturalistic in their behaviour. Please continue further into that direction (e.g. give more animals communicating behaviours, especially to other social animals like lemurs and primates, or bathing animations for elephants and tapirs, burrows for more species), and consider updating more animals with new behaviours.

Many thanks for a promising update!

And of course, this. I'm real excited that guests haven't been forgotten just yet. And, I'm most excited for the soundboard station
A Shame though that it isn't customizable and only usable by Kids. I want something like that for my Hall of extinct New Zealand Birds because for some of them Sound Recordings exist. It could also nicely be used on something like a Forest Path with Sounds of native Birds

Oh no. I turned 21 back in April, and my back's already kicking in🤣
Good to know that I'm not the only one who is already feeling like a old Man 😂

Ha ha ha, @HeatherG. Without context, it looks like your thanking me for telling y'all I have back pain:

😂🤣

The education stations are EXACTLY what my zoos have been lacking. The Giraffe measuring station is amazing, I don't mind that it's not customizable because I can already think of ten different ways to use it (and maybe more animal measuring stations will arrive in future updates?) Love it.
A Version that only shows Measurements so you can customize it would be nice though. I'd love the Polar Bear Measuring Station in my Marine Park to be usable

Honestly i was expecting the PlanCo terrain tool, because of the "Botanical" aspect of this Dlc, and we know it's already in the game...
But i'm glad to see new guests actions and animations, and i'm curious about the new small gate and climbing enrichment, now we wait for the patch notes. :geek:
What PlanCo terrain tool do you mean?

Hoping we get another gibbon and more brachiating apes down the line.
I think we 100% will. I think digging will have been planned ahead of time for Meerkats and Prairie Dogs so I’m pretty sure we’ll see more brachiating animals next DLC.

The old model of the lion will not change. That's why many of the players gave up using it. Adding the chorus effect to the lion, the long, strong male roars, which are heard in the zoo just like in reality, would mean a revival of this animal without making major changes. I insist that this simple addition to the lion would bring this magnificent animal back to the players' attention. This effect must be added to the lion along with the wolves.

Just got me thinking that adding the chorus behaviour to only male lions would be kind of contra productive as currently we are only able to keep one male per enclosure.

It's possible though to keep a pure Group of male Lions. I assume though that most Players don't do that. It's normal though at least in the Wild that sometimes there are 2 or even 3 male Lions in a Pack. Don't know though how common that is in Captivity

In many zoos we find only male lions, usually siblings, because males are much more spectacular. We often find zoos with two males and several females, as there are in the wild. Only a small change should be made to their social structure.

Oh right, totally forgot about bachelor groups, as I usualy just have mixed enclosures.
