Free Epic Cmdr 'Orange Sidewinders' when entering glide.

Wanted to start using this alt more so I did a fresh reinstall and went out to go unlock Farseer. Every single time I deorbit and transition to glide it disconnects and gives me the Orange Sidey. Have tried on multiple planets in solo, open, pg doesn't matter. Tried with a vpn and without. Reverfied the files. Nothing works. Once it disconnects, I have to switch over to the base game in the launcher and recover the save which puts me in orbit otherwise it just loops with the error code. Any suggestions before I open a ticket?

EDIT: Fixed. Problem turned out to be the latest AMD drivers. Thanks all.

try a good old modem\router restart followed by opening a command prompt and running ipconfig /flushdns

if your able to get in game in base then try leaving the system your having issues in, logout then back in as normal and try returning

also try a network reset, be warned wifi passwords and any unique dns\network settings you have made will need to be reconfigured

disable ipv6 for which ever network adaptor your using

you could also try changing your dns, although if you use a reputable VPN your vpn will usualy be changed any way while your connected however you will still need to use flushdns

do you still have the previous install with your old character ? does that character suffer the same issue?

Also, you dont need to re-install the game to play with alts, you can just just maintain two launchers to the same game data and that will let you associate your different accounts (without having to re-login each time you want to switch)... or you could use a community created account switcher tool to semi-automate that process.

I thought it was working for my Steam CMDR but I realized when I had first checked I hadn't narrowed it down to only happening when I entered the glide phase. I just tried it again and it IS happening on both my accounts.

That'll be it, latest AMD drivers on RDNA2 have issues with Oddsey. Downgrade your drivers to 20.5.1 (I think) or earlier.

He might also be up for trying dxvk to circumvent this issue. There's a chance rendering to vulkan would avoid the glitch ...haven't tested it myself since i dont have any windows installs. But it's a free option that's reversible if it doesn't work and then you can always downgrade your drivers after.
