Jurassic Challenges Help

So I am going for the achievements on Xbox for Jurassic difficulty challenges and Canada is proving a much bigger challenge than campaign and chaos theory combined.

I am at 3.5stars, it doesnt seem to want to go up, despite how many high appeal dinosaurs I hatch. Now my oldest dinosaurs are dieing from old age and theres a storm about every 10 minutes. Am I missing something that could take this from unnecesarily stressful to actually a challenge but doable?

Anyone have any tips that might help?

I was stuck as 4.8 for the longest time but couldn't get over the hurdle till I looked up some tips.

Basically you have to optimize distances of the basic needs of the guest: Restrooms, amenities, attraction, ect. For amenities check which guest types you have the most of and optimize for them. Remember that stars are based off income not appeal, although appeal does bring in the money indirectly by bringing in the guests. More hotels and better paths will increase your income as appeal goes up.

To finally get the .2 I needed, after making sure i optimized and made sure that every single enclosure had 100% visibility, I prepared a bunch of high appeal dinos to be released all at once. 1) to get past the species variety penalty and 2) you have a few minutes from the first to last dino released before fights start up and comfort levels drop if you air drop them.

The last part for that specific level is that the target appeal should be about double what the game says in order to push yourself to 5. Keeping that in mind at as the tartget should help you plan out just how many dinos you'll need and which ones to pump out all at once.

Doesn't need to be a perfect park to get the 5.

Not sure of your exact situation, but from my experience it sounds like you've reached a breakpoint where a Hotel or 2 will skyrocket your ratings.

Thanks for the tip. I have enough hotel space (2 smalls and a large, so 1800 guests?) For my max guest population based on appeal at least. Amenities are all profitable to a wide margin too.

I think I just need some new big appeal dinosaurs to get there like said. Just saving up the money when its like 1m per egg is hard with storms all the time lol

there is a way to cheese your way to get all the research and upgrades without worrying about dinos

Essentially, you rely on attractions and only attractions to get money going. The innovation center is the big ticket item that'll still get you your appeal. Attractions are only worth it if you have one of every kind. Having a duplicate will cut the 100 appeal by half. Innovation Centers are 250 unless the update changed all this.

Anyway, optimize like I said previously but solely to get as many innovation Centers in the park as possible. You should have a continous amount of income without the hassle of managing the living attractions. Save up enough money to be able to scrap it all and start from scratch if need be (takes a long time but there's no real time restraint) or save up just to get access to each research item then build when you are ready.

Again a very cheese way to do this, I was able to get 5 star on Jurassic on Germany and SW US with only Innovation Centers and no dinos so up to you on how you wanna spend your time. Personally, I did it for the skins and you care about doing it right then you can do it the way I said it here just to get the achievments and then try again, without the added pressure of thinking you'll never get the achievement.

So wait if I just build Innovation centers to pull people in, then what, hit them with amenities to get extra money from them as well as park entrance fees? That sounds brilliant lol

It's been months (release) since I attempted a challenge mode, but since then, the YouTube crowd has all pointed out that you can just win with innovation centers and shops (with restrooms and bunkers).

Not sure if it still works.

If you're in it to just get the skins, go for it.

Essentially, as mentioned by Skawt there are youtube videos that go into the specifics. This is all dependent on no changes to how to get income since the updates. You'll have to add hotels and increase path size as needed. Basically, fulfil the requirements of the guests, keep them at like 95% or higher and you'll be raking in the dough. It is a slow process but if you focus on just the guest stuff for research and cheaper cost upgrades, you should be good to go.

Key note for this to work is that there cannot be a single dino in the park, wild or manufactured. Quickly capture and sell all wild ones on the map in order to see the effects of the Innovation centers.

This was patched a while ago, so just placing out lots of Innovation Centers won't work anymore.

I just came to say this :( it splits the appeal by centers so no go anymore. Thats a shame.

Guess I am back to slowly gaining money to buy some big appeal dinosaurs. Im on 4.1 stars so only need another 300k or so to get to 5 stars 🥲

So.... the old fashioned way it is then.

How I usually "sealed the deal" for challenges, even on Jurassic difficulty, was lagoons. They have the advantage of being low maintenance and high appeal. Surround lagoon with hotels, shops, restrooms bunkers.

If it doesn't win for you, it will bring you very close. Tylosaurs can really crank out the rating.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I myself am trying to beat challenge mode on hard (just for skins. I don't care for the Jurassic achievements).

Since there have been at least 2 updates since this thread, I was wondering if there are any tips and tricks that y'all can suggest (I play on Xbox One and most info online is outdated info involving the Innovation Centers)

I'd appreciate any suggestions y'all have, thanks

I guess all of them.

I was trying the Canada(?) one, where it's only carnivores and a 3 herbivore species...

Yeah, no. The dinos would rampage and it's too tough to get to the adequate stars to get the carnivore feeder...

The limited herbivores is NW USA. The trick for this map is to feed your carnivores Struthiomimus until you can unlock the prey feeders. Once you get to Ceratosaurus and a few Dilos, you should have enough rating and income to look in to getting live prey feeders. After the rough start is over with, the rest of the play is just a matter of time until you win. Expand to 5 stars.

I agree with Mr. Skawt that at the beginning of Northwest USA Jurassic difficulty challenge mode is to feed the hunting carnivores with Struthiomimus until feeders are unlocked.

Honestly and afterwards, I ended up hating the process of getting 5 stars due to a factor that makes no sense. If I were to do the Germany Jurassic difficulty challenge mode under the current version of this game, I will also hate the process based on the same reason.

As for the Canada and Southwest USA Jurassic difficulty challenge modes; what do you all say to wait for the new expansion DLC?

I am waiting for Microceratus to be added before attempting the Jurassic difficulty challenge modes that correspond with the films Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Canada: build your starting setup (enclosure, dinos, comfort and amenities), then fire your scientists except maybe a logistics specialist (I fired them all and hired new ones once I had a few million saved up). Your starting scientists are expensive and are the sole thing preventing you from getting a comfortable start. Be extremely frugal when hiring new ones.

SW USA: this one I can't really help in a paragraph. You have to adapt and overcome once your dinosaurs start dying off. Once this starts happening en masse, I just blew all my savings on high appeal dinosaurs in a race against the clock to secure the win.

Thanks for the tips. I have no idea who else other than me wait for the new DLCs before attempting the Jurassic difficulty challenge modes in Canada and Southwest USA. We need every dinosaur available for us to choose.

That may or may not help.

Jurassic difficulties (not sure about the others) have only a set of dinosaurs you can choose from. So far, I don't think I've seen any of the previous additions added to them (I could be mistaken).

The only update that I can think of that severely impacted Jurassic difficulty was the change to Germany (removal of lagoons) - and that change made it harder.

For Canada, I can confirm a win is possible without going for the Spinosaurus (it's really expensive). I got to 4.5 with the Giganotosaurus, then the last 0.5 with a herd of Suchomimus.
