New Campaign and Chaos Theory levels
The Dominion Biosyn Expansion gives you access to an exciting, Biosyn focused, campaign that expands on the story of Jurassic World Dominion. This campaign has been created specifically for this expansion. You'll be teaming up with Lewis Dodgson (voiced by Campbell Scott), to help run operations at a high-tech Biosyn Genetics facility in a new valley environment. As part of the campaign, you'll be unearthing amber-encased DNA to synthesise the new film-inspired species, and eventually work to restore a fire-ravaged forest to help the dinosaurs thrive.

You will also be meeting familiar characters like Dr. Alan Grant (voiced by Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (voiced by Laura Dern), and Claire Dearing (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard).

Gameplay additions like the underground Hyper Loop and Research Outposts will let you design your parks and facilities in different ways, and Biosyn themed buildings and decorations will add even greater visual variety.

Alongside the new Biosyn focused campaign narrative, you can also experience a thrilling what-if scenario inspired by the events of Jurassic World Dominion in Chaos Theory. You'll be teaming up with Owen Grady to house and care for escaped dinosaurs at his snowy Sierra Nevada ranch, and working on keeping them safe from rustlers who are coming to steal them away. Build flood-lights, watchtowers, and other defensive structures to anticipate, prevent, and intercept these rustlers.

The Biosyn buildings, as well as the maps from the campaign and Chaos Theory levels, are useable in Sandbox Mode as well. Please be aware that the Research Compound is only available on the Biosyn Valley map, and will work as your park's Research Center and Arrival Point.

Update 3
We're also releasing a free base game update at the same time as the new expansion. Update 3 will add several quality of life enhancements, as well as some new gameplay mechanics. You'll be able to herd and move dinosaurs from place to place – without the need to tranquilise them and call in a transport helicopter – using new wrangling mechanics. After Update 3 you can also link up multiple parts of your parks and facilities using Park Tours, and a single connected Tour will improve your transport rating. In addition to this, we're also adding in a new tour for the DFW building set, giving all eras access to Tours in Sandbox Mode.

Also among the quality of life enhancements is the option to have multiple Operations buildings in Sandbox Mode, letting you have multiple Control Centers, Visitor Centers, Arrival Points and more. Avid Sandbox Mode players will also be happy to know that you will be able to fully turn off both Status Checks and Dinosaur Injuries in Sandbox Mode.

Chaos Theory maps are coming to Challenge Mode, with unique conditions and dinosaur traits that are sure to put you to the test. For more information about these new Challenge Mode levels, head to our forums.

Last but not least, this update is adding NVIDIA® Ray-traced ambient occlusion to Jurassic World Evolution 2 on PC, adding even more depth and realism to dinosaurs and the world around them. Simply activate NVIDIA DLSS and RTAO, and you'll instantly experience amazing visuals and performance that's up to 2X faster at 4K.

The full list of changes and quality of life enhancements can be found in the changelog below.

We hope you enjoy the Dominion Biosyn Expansion and free Update, Park Managers! Don't forget to also join our launch livestream at 14:45 BST on Twitch and YouTube. We promise plenty of cool giveaways with the devs!

Adding a 30fps lock doesn’t help, the game still doesn’t run well on next gen. It has no reason not to. PLEASE FIX THE PERFORMANCE, THE GAME HAS BEEN OUT FOR 7 MONTHS NOW.

@Jens Erik
Good update, but how do i edit tour tracks now?
When i select the option it just makes me put another tour entrance, or photo point, or gate, there's no option to edit the actual road anymore! Or i am missing something?

Adding a 30fps lock doesn’t help, the game still doesn’t run well on next gen. It has no reason not to. PLEASE FIX THE PERFORMANCE, THE GAME HAS BEEN OUT FOR 7 MONTHS NOW.
They already downgraded the game:

You want them to downgrade it even further?
No thanks, the game runs perfectly fine right now on PS5, if you want rock solid stable performances just lock at 30fps.
You want more? Well buy a PC then, because we can't expect too much from Frontier in this regard, i've learned.

Asking again please unlock the locations for sandbox mode it makes no sense to keep those locked, you guys unlocked all dino's to use in sandbox mode so please do the same for the locations for those that only want to play sandbox mode. On PC its not a big issue we can use mods and savegames but those on console that are pure sandbox players its really something that lots of sandbox players keep asking for.

I’ve just seen the remaining stuff I wanted to see, and now more questions are answered!

I had doubts that, in the second level of the campaign, there would be a burnt up forest for constraint reasons. But now, I must say I never expected to pull something off! There is a burnt forest as a combination of stone terrain and burnt up trees!

it also answers how they would do the next level. Much different than what I initially thought. Rather than using the existing map you play on while building the sanctuary, it restarts the map entirely after an additional cinematic intro!

The two maps, despite some differences of their own respectively as well as some theories I came accross, they do not have new biomes. The map selection screens on the main menu confirm so. The Sierra Nevada and Biosyn Valley maps are Taiga and Alpine respectively.

But their differences are the Sierra Nevada map has a permanent snowy whether effect. Meaning, no matter what terrain types you add, it will always be covered in snow. And the Bioysn Valley map has something that I totally didn’t expect to happen with existing in-game biomes: New terrain textures, and new foliage brushes.

Rumors said the JWE2 campaign is shorter than the JWE1 campaign because it was cut to hold back content that would be spoilers to Dominion. But based on what I see on how production generally works, and how they approached the campaigns’ narratives, the DLC’s content was in development at least sometime shortly after the game’s release, and the two campaigns are completely independent from each other, rather than a continuation of the existing DFW campaign, the latter which is said to at least be placed functionally within the overarching franchise and Universal’s “canon view” with their close help (and I suspect the Biosyn campaign, despite no direct confirmation yet, to be the same).

So, the rumors that anything from the campaign is held back to avoid spoilers to answer why it’s shorter than the JWE1 campaign is just fundamentally false.

And those are the questions that I’ve have that are now answered! It's just a shame I can’t play it yet because I still don’t have a new computer yet…

Hey Vick! You should be able to just click on an existing Tour Track and continue adding to the Tour :)

Hopefully you'll get to play it soon :)

Hi Jens, no, i can't.
No matter what i do, i can't edit an already placed Tour Track on my Sandbox park because the option do so is now used for placing Tour Entrance (and that only)!
The only instance in which i can create a Tour Track is immediately after an Entrance is placed, but even if a go from there to Delete Mode (even for just a second) in order to remove an obstacle, i can then no longer edit nor continue the track.

This is a pretty serious, game breaking bug Jens, the kind of bug should be sorted immediately. 🙏

PS5 for reference.

I love so much the new cohabitation uptades. I would like to suggest one uptade, that i think you can be able to to in the future, not now. The uptade should be ceratopsid should like the hadrosaurid( or a specific hadrosaurid, the choose belongs to Frontier). I would aprecciate this in the future. Thanks

This is absolutely amazing! Again, thank you for all of this awesome new content, I gotta say so many highlights. One of which stands out for me is the FOG in the new biome, I’ve wanted fog since the first game - it just creates such an amazing and ancient atmosphere. I truly hope fog can be added to a tropical biome as well in the future. The movie skins are just incredible as well, they came out so good! Excited for them all but specially the feathered T-Rex! Can’t wait to get home and start enjoying the new DLC and update. PS. I also have a question, is it possible to add the JP3 pteranodon’s sound bank!!? They have specific, beautiful sounds made with emperor penguins (from the movie) that are not in the game.

My apologies! I've shared this with the team and they're looking into it. One workaround is to place a second Tour Station from a different era, if possible.
How does contention multiplier work exactly?
I guess it's related to the cohabitation meter, but how is calculation done?
I'm not fully aware of how the math works, but this should make it easier to house species who are neutral to each other in the same enclosure.

PS5 for reference.
It seems the Tour Track got buggy in the last update. In PC version, the JP tour track is sometimes missing from the menu (gates and tour entrance are available). But after i choose JW ride and go back to JP tour, i have only tour track and concrete tour track (without gates and entrance).

Edit: When i went into "everything" selector in build menu, instead of era-specific, everything worked fine... tracks shouldn't be era-specific

I started the Biosyn campaign late last night and was playing around with the new stuff in the sandbox. That feathered Rex from the Dominion prologue looks pretty good. Also please let us have that mist effect as an option for the tropical maps.

It seems to be a pretty good update so far

YES!! I so want the fog for tropical biomes as well!

Thank you for improving cohabitation!!!!!!

Please also consider improving seed plants to give tall leaf and ground leaf in addition to tall nut and ground nut so they’re not the most restrictive food source and making mixed habitats with the few species that eat nuts easier.
