My Idea:
A custom coaster type builder. Not like a layout (that already exists) but a type e.g. Barghest. You can control whether kids can ride, whether the coaster can invert, which train (or train options) it would use from a selection of all trains in game. You can also upload the types (without a layout) to the Steam workshop.
What is it?
You can basically make your own coaster types. This would stop people from endlessly suggesting more coaster types e.g. Intamin Blitz.
But how do you make the coaster types?
Firstly, in the coasters tab there would be another option called Custom Types (next to Blueprint and Custom). In that option would be all the custom coaster types that you have created or downloaded from the Steam workshop. When making a new one, you firstly give a name for it, and a category (like Typhoon but it would be your own). You will have the option to use a pre-made category or a custom category. Then you would select the general settings.
General Settings:
Players would control stuff like max bank angle, max drop angle, max lifthill angle, max launch speed and drive tyre speed, as well as whether children can ride or whether the coaster could use prefab inversions. Players could also disable and enable certain inversions.
Track Type Settings:
Players firstly would select the track types that they want to see. Options include triangular track (like on the typhoon coasters), rectangular track (like on invincible giga), H-beam track (also on typhoon). They could also choose a beam track which has a beam connected to the rail (like Torque launched). They could also choose a B&M style track which would come in two options: Standard (like the F25 sit-down coaster and the Werewolf floorless coaster) but also large version (like Aethon dive coaster). Players could choose multiple different track designs with a maximum number of tracks being 3.
Element Settings:
The player would be able to firstly configure whether the coaster has a lifthill, a launch or brakes. For the lifthill players would choose between chain, cable, and drive tyre lifts with a maximum of two selections. There would also be an elevator lift option, which would have 3 pieces. Elevator Lift Start, Elevator Lift Mid-Section, and Elevator Lift Top. The player could also choose the max and min lift speed for the certain lift types.
The player could also configure the launch settings. They can choose one launch option out of these: LSM, LIM and Hydraulic, as well as tyre launches (they can be added with any other launch type). There would also be settings for each particular type. For LSMs, the player could decide whether to have two or one stator (the white things on the track), whether these would be to the left, centre or right or both (one on the left and one on the right similar to the Barghest typhoon, this option is only available for two stators.) For LIMs there would only be a setting for orientation, either side or centre. Hydraulic launches wouldn't have any appearance settings, other than length of catch car, which would also apply for cable lifts. Tyre launches would have the option to be sideways (like the F25 coaster) or vertically. For all launch types players could customise max launch speed, min launch speed and max and min acceleration. The launch sounds could also be changed.
For the brakes, players firstly could chose to enable block and trim brakes as well as configuring speed and deceleration rate boundaries. For normal brakes, players could have friction or magnetic brakes or both. One would be the default brake if both are selected and this is also selected by the player. For drive tyres, the tyre style can be changed between various styles and max speed and acceleration can also be changed.
Track Limit Settings:
The player would be able to configure max angle for the lifthill (up and down), the launch methods, and the drive tyres and brakes.
Train Settings:
The player could choose between any of the trains in the game with max length being configurable. (for DLC trains the player must have the DLC first). Also a new train would be added: The new Intamin train design as seen on their Blitz coasters and their newer multi-inversion coasters and mega coasters like Hyperion at Energylandia and Sik at Flamingo Land with the pull-down lap bars.
Summary:
The coaster type creator would be a great feature and relieve the Frontier team from reading endless reports for new coasters. Also if you are reading this Frontier, please add a blitz coaster into the game. Enough people have suggested it and we don't think the typhoons are realistic enough.
