How Deep Do the Underwater Feeders Need to Be?

My zoo has sea lions and African penguins. The underwater fish feeder didn't register for the penguins, who have a depth of just over 2m, so I wasn't surprised, thinking it must be 4m, but the sea lion pool is just over 4m deep and it still doesn't register.

The required depth used to be 5m when the feeder was released. Your experience suggest that the 5m requirement hasn't changed despite the improvements Frontier made with the depth requirements for the animals

Yeah, I think the feeder kind of does not make sense anymore for animals that need 2 m deep water if it is not functional in such depth.

Hopefully this will be changed. I'll post it to @Bearcat9948's thread and see if he'll add it to the list.

Fortunately the diving animals are more than happy to swim without the added benefit of eating, but it would be nice to be able to use the feeder...at all.

Mine are working fine with just a little more than 2 m. About 2.30 or something like that.

Mine work in shallower water than that for sure, I tend to use the flatter ones now though, just for aesthetic reasons. Which ones are you using?

Hmmm, next time I'm in game I'll have a look where I have them!
In saying that I have an educator podium by one habitat that says "not connected to habitat" despite...being connected to the habitat and working fine, so maybe my zoo is just glitched (although, I couldn't get the fish feeder to work in a 2m deep otter pool in my last zoo either).

My feeders are in a depth of 2.5 meters and works fine, also when the deep water has a depth of 2 meters I put the feeder inside of the terrain and the "mouth" where the fish or the plants go out it's outside the terrain and there is the only way where the feeders can work fine
