Expose more info about solo/pg player actions in station info

To try to un-derail this from random PVP chat to actually relevant feedback:

Assuming most people play in solo and will play in the future, what effect would having this extra information be on BGS gameplay/strategy?

It would expose the levels of your opposition, which would be very handy.

In essence then you need to copy how Powerplay does actions which are near real time

If im not completely misunderstanding you... what is "near real time" in unloading a ton of merits in the last minute befor the PP Thursday tick?
If anything, frontloading a week of work is the total opposite of "real time"

Reading the OP it's not clear that players in Solo and Private Groups would have access to information relating to player activity in Open - and, if not, the proposal is rather one sided.

My BGS experience is limited, but... nothing?
Sure, I can now see how much of the stuff that's happening is being done in solo.
So what?

Better lose with honor fun, than win in shame boredom.
That depends on the person. I dont say that you are wrong, but i am sure and not opposed to someone saying "Better win smart in solo, then loose". Honor don't pay you anything. Honor don't give you an advantage. No one gets a reward for loosing honorably. Lots of Cmdrs have "died" in honor. Did we know them? Do we speak of them in high regard? They are forgotten. This is a cutthroat galaxy and if you want to gain the upper hand, you have to act ruthlessly, without remorse and focused on success. I thought a Kumo Crew member should know this.

Powerplay shows you:

Power losses (in near real time)- this cannot be sidestepped.
Undermining (in real time)- if you have lots of losses but the UM shows nothing.....well you have an issue.
Merits are singular and not subject to s curves or aggregation
Merit levels are indicated sometimes down to the second- so the tick is per second. This allows actions to be seen from action to redemption unlike the BGS where you wait for a day.

While you could save up your merits, at the same time cause and effect are easier to work out, unlike the BGS now which is filling buckets which are then poured into other buckets (so cause and effect are far less obvious).

Also Powerplay has explicit pledges and territory, so transposing that (so you might hypothetically align with a faction or PMF) could make actions even more granular where suspicious ships from dodgy aligned PMFs spell trouble (which kind of happens now with squadrons).

But surely your opposition would be the minor factions you're working against, and not solo players?
Oh wait...
? You'd be able to see the amount of ships working in an area, what they are doing. So no more 'wah I'm being steamrollered by a whole PMF' because you can see who is doing the work better, unlike now where its largely mysterious unless you go about things noisily.

Makes sense, but OP's proposal specifies that open players are exempt from this data by default, rendering the feature plenty useless (and demonstrating OP as simply biased against solo players).

So the buckets would have been filled by the BGS players, according to the mighty spreadsheet, if influence hasn't moved as expected then, following the tick, the next level of the spreadsheet is invoked...

If someone is working against you, you know it, does it really matter which mode they are in, or which platform, or even which expansion?

Sounds like BGS sour grapes to me, sorry.

The OPs idea would have to apply to everyone, just as PPs data does.

Also, casually omitted, was the little bit of info that ships going through the system are broken down by type, it is fairly obvious if a heap of Cutters & T9s are coming in that haulers are busy, and simple enough to deduce which of those belong to one's own 'side' to get an idea of the scale of activity.

Perhaps the OP considered only their own players were in open, and no others?

That report is too blunt though. It needs to be far more granular and show who is traversing, what in, where they docked, who they are affiliated with etc. Would be a good use of the NAV if you could download that.

No, they didn't specify that, only the ones not in open.

Is this another "Hotel California" thread in the making?
Thats why I said 'would have to, just like PP'
