Newcomer / Intro Ship Auto Level on planets?

Hello Commanders,
Hear is one to rack your brain and hopefully help me know what I did to screw it up somehow.

So I'm flying slow and low in search of Bio/Geo sites. I did something that made my ship "auto level", so to speak, so when my sight dot slowly moved my ship to 0 degrees level.
This was also true if I was slightly off level in a slight roll which also "auto leveled" in the same way. (in slow and low I run with landing gear extended if that matters)
Not sure what my binds were set to, but I screwed them up somehow.

Does anyone know about this "auto level" or even heard of it as it was what my ship "ASPx" used to do?
I know, I know, if it's not broke leave it alone...lol

Thank you for any information or advice.... o7

Its (auto leveling) always worked that way for me. I don't know if that feature is bound to any controls except maybe FA Off...

The auto leveling has one simple reason - if you flew "straight" (i.e. without any imput control) you'd leave the planet on a tangent. So this function keeps you perpendicular to the surface at therefore at the same altitude above planet. That part is kind of handy.
What ISN'T handy though is that:
1) The auto leveling constantly backseat-drives your ship and won't let you point where you want to point, leveling it even when you don't want to.
2) It can not be disabled.

So as far as I am concerned, another thumbs down for a feature that is useful on paper but badly implemented.
