My wallpaper is and for a long is, Dana Carvey on 90s SNL McLaughlin Group parody, going WRONG. I love that and it reminds me I should re-open the game

Oh yeah so I went looking for an Elite wallpaper and found my wife and I dressed as witches in Red Dead Online last Halloween, riding into the sunset. This is good, a good memory, and not so blunt as Mr. McLaughlin. Yet looking at it also reminds me I should re-open Elite.
 
I've done a few kill scav missions of late where, when I scan the body, I get no bounty although the voice-over says "bounty detected". Is this a bug?
Usually that means there is no additional bounty, other than the one you collected on death. At least that's how it has seemed to me. You'll get a small bounty when you kill them, and get more when you scan them (sometimes).

Ah, okay, ta. I was wondering if it was something to do with not getting anything due to my rank being higher than the scav. I'm not sure if on-foot combat works the same way as it does in ships i.e. your rank v. their rank = percentage gained.
 
That's like the "mission objective detected" when you're mining and not on a mission. There's no message, no nothing. Just that voice alert for apparently no reason.
I think that happens when an NPC ship isn’t too far away that if you find and scan it will offer you a mission of some sort, I am not certain of this as, like the messages that pop up when I am doing well shooting wanted in some sort of RES, I consider it as at least a diversion and probably a trap.

As mentioned, it's usually a trade mission you can accept if go to the ship at the mission related signal source that will be in the system. The payout for these missions the few times I've looked isn't worth the time it took to go to the mission related signal source, nevermind the time to do the mission.
 
I've been trying to catch this sequence on video for a while, but something always goes wrong.
"Waiting for mother" - Fleet Carrier arrival in front of planetary asteroid ring. Is it me, or is there something a little off with the animation sequence? You get a glimpse of where the carrier will be fore it arrives. 1 minute long.
Yeah, that looks weird, but you've also got serious graphical glitches in those rings. They should not be rainbow colored.

I've never seen the carrier arrival look like that.
 
I'm offline and not playing for a couple of weeks on holiday now, though I might look in here occasionally. Naturally the climax of the Azimuth saga happens when I can't be playing to witness it - apparently there will be something to see if you are in that HIP system.
I'm hoping someone, somewhere, will record the event for later viewing.

I'm there, but I have no idea when to look for whatever it is or what I would be looking for.
 
I have finally found THE Thargoid scout killer. It is the Challenger. I struggled mightily with the Gauss Cannons when I first tried a while back, but these AX turrets make it so much easier. I've got decontaminate and repair limpet controllers on board. If I had the materials to craft ammo for the AX cannons, I could stay out there fighting indefinitely. As it is I can stay until I run out of ammo. The ship is just invincible.
