Good evening Cmdrs o7

So which weapons do you use now, since you cant use the guardian weapons?

o7
In 4.0 EDO You use AX weapons multi cannons and missiles... so cyclops and Bas can still die...
In 3.8 EDH you still use the same old stuff as in this version the thargoids ran away from with in the system and have not looked back...
but in game the CGs well over allready so just kill for revenge.. lol,

Yeah, it was announced to be running for a full week even though the powers that be were well aware of what was going to happen... Could have been communicated much better.
Pre-announcing an early end to it would allow too much meta-gaming, I think. This way they had a lot of people saying "well, the CG ends on Thursday so nothing much is going to happen until then", and from a story-telling point of view that's the sort of "we know how this works" overconfidence that both Salvation in-universe and players out-of-universe need kicking out of now and then.

It shouldn't be overused, but the ability to have CGs be interrupted by major events is a good thing to have - the Nine Martyrs attack broke up the peace conference and cancelled a previously advertised CG before it started ... but the surprise and impact would have been so much greater had it happened a day earlier instead (and if it had been technically possible, they might well have done so!).

Another interesting case is the twitch drops. Just claiming the last now - despite Salvation's demise. And yet previously it seemed strange they were giving away PJs before p13 ...

It’s always right there at the bottom of every CG description, after all.

Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.

I have to disagree. The CG was explicitly to Protect the Proteus Wave until it could be fired, and the game itself was quite loudly announcing that it would be fired on Tuesday. It would have made perfect sense (in universe) for it to have an end time matching the firing of the weapon.
The way it was set up looked like we would be given a few extra days to hand in, after "things" happened. There is still no reason why this can't be done - the Musashi is sitting safe and sound one system away from everything. Presumably they're still going to hand out the rewards, and if there's still enough staff to arrange that they shouldn't have a problem with still accepting hand-ins up until the original end date.
