Allow InterAstra to outsource ship transfers

I am in Colonia. I would like one of my ships to be delivered from the bubble. I go the the InterAstra and sign a contract for 50 millions credits to deliver my ship in 5 days (the price is lower than normal InterAstra delivery service).

At the same time someone in the bubble finds new mission on the board to deliver a ship to the Colonia for 50M Cr within 7 days. Information about the ship jump range is available on the mission board as well. The mission is available in multiple systems, but can be taken only once (first come first served). The commander who takes this mission gets temporary access to my ship and can fly it as their own for the given period of time (not being able to outfit it).

As an owner I can see approximate distance to the destination (aka progress). If ship is delivered earlier the owner gets it and can pay a little extra bonus (up to 20%) if they wish.
In case the ship is not delivered in time - the access nullified, if commander was in that ship - goes to the escape pod, significant fine is issued etc.

Of course if you own FC you can take several of these missions at once and complete in parallel parking all ships on your FC.

No matter what happens I am guaranteed by InterAstra to get my ship at latest the end of delivery contract in Colonia.

What do yo think?

UPD: I can see that the commander taking this mission could take it just to use this ship (he would need to grind for a long time otherwise) - maybe could be solved by reputation at InterAstra organisation (which is based on a number of completed ship delivery contracts).

UPD2: It could be restricted by the mission taker "wealth" to ensure they can cover rebuy (mission penalty) if mission is failed.

Can be abused as a way to rent ships for $/€/£.

This is why Frontier doesn't like player-to-player trading.
Do you mean renting ships for real money? Like selling the coordinates of a shop selling pre-upgraded weapon/suit? I don't think it is real concern.

And even in such case what is a chance that someone who wish to pay for this would get this mission? If it is available in dozen of systems/stations visited by players.

Seller: 2
Seller: 3. Now Accept!
Buyer: Accepted. Can confirm i got the ship.

:ROFLMAO: no, not convinced, sorry

So who pays the rebuys on the ship being transported, the owning player or the delivering player?

Doubtful this will get implemented. Too much chance of making the other's day bad...

With another commander flying your ship, nothing is guaranteed...

Not very likely...

As stated above there is only one "rebuy" - ship destroyed = mission failure for mission taker

What is bad? Worst case they will get back to the last visited station

As stated if time went - access is nullified, ship destroyed remotely, ship owner gets a "copy" (the same as after rebuy) covered by mission insurance.
Not very likely...
That's suggestions forum - 99.999% 100% unlikely ;)

This would allow players to "rent" fully engineered ships without the need to unlock engineers or gather materials / data - for days at a time in the case of Colonia transfers.
Yes, exactly. At a cost or your reputation with InterAstra (see my update above). Could be limited by ship size/cost and distance for default reputation at start.

And as a side note - I would be happy to have temporary access to semi-upgraded ships as part of Federation/Empire military path. To try Gunship or Corvette early before you get the ability to buy and equip it yourself.

UPD: Especially in Odyssey - maybe I am on-foot mercenary who don't want to own and outfit a ship, but I'd like to travel farther than Apex can help me to do. Could be an alternative to searching FC off-game.

It'd likely be enough to disable all engineered weapons and remove the ability to take missions or cargo, multi-crew, etc. when the player is engaged in a ship transport mission.

But how will you defend yourself from pirates if you decide to transfer some cargo along with delivering the ship?
