The negative threads trigger more negative threads. It's like a flock of wild animals, they see a couple of others doing it and everybody jumps on it thinking they're safe in a flock of whiners, attacking the weak spots. I bet if a few positive threads come along at the same time it'll be the other way around, and the people posting in them would probably be alot of the ones from the negative threads after a while. People just... well, they're people. FD know this so they aren't panicking.

Actually, it's the lack of any type of comment by FD to assuage people's fears. I've personally seen 50+ threads criticizing the game, many of which had very valid reasoning behind it, yet not a single one had a FD post in them. I'm not sure what FD would actually say, but anything is better than nothing. Granted they don't reply too much to ANY thread. What I would like to see, is less people criticizing each other and getting so personally defensive. FD needs to ramp up their communication. We basically published their game, it's the least they could do. IMO of course.

Most of the issues have already been discussed in a lot of earlier threads so I doubt the devs want to waste all their time answering the same old questions(not to mention reading through dozens of similar threads to find the one or two useful questions).

I'm pretty sure that it's just the human nature to seek for negativism. Nevertheless i think that FD deserves praise.

I know a lot of players on different game forums begging for a more complex, less arcade game. So here it is.

Nothing in development or released in the past or present certainly does not reinvent the space trading combat and exploration and transport idea. It is what it is. SC even as bigas it is, is just a rehash of past ideas. Can’t please everyone as they say even before it’s even out yet some want to pass judgment. The smarter being the ones that will wait and play many hours of the consumer release before asking.

I think most would congratulate David and the team for producing a Game that will introduce a new generation to the space sim genre he invented along with Ian Bell. Everything that has come after has built on the foundations set by Elite of that there is no mistake. It will always be the first and original 3D space sim.

As a Original Elite player back in the day on the BBC I can’t wait to get onboard and fly my first mission be it exploration, trade, piracy, mining or just transportation its all good in my book. It sounds amazing, looks amazing and will set a new standard in what to expect from the modern space sim.

I love this but this just sums up the threads so much.... Some are negative no matter what. Water off a ducks back as they say. While it can be seen at best airing a concern its mostly just trolling especially when the game is not even out. I’m sure after the release I’ll come on to read pages of what is great and bad thus far. After all only an idiot would pass judgment on something that’s not even finished yet I think we can all agree.

Some people are stamping their feet, because they only got vegetables. They're much too impatient to wait for the meat and pudding

The best answer FD can give to any of us is in what they deliver on the 22nd. It's a few days away. After that if there are more negative posts the maybe some FD responses since I think we were told not to expect major changes before the full release anyway.

No one can complain about communication surly! News letters, Clips have always been refreshingly open and honest. Look at Dean Hall on DayZ he more or less went into hiding for months when a deadline was missed and nothing communication wise was coming out.

I hope they have left some nice surprises for the 22nd.

I know, it's amazing how far it's came. I really don't understand the "lack of content" arguments on a beta build. We've even got our first expansion full of content in the Mercenary edition pack, as well as anything else thrown in from now until release date.

Let me just sum it up real quick:

There is no other game on this planet that has 400 billions stars of our own galaxy, the milky way.
There is no other game on this planet that has blistering space combat with amazing sound and graphics with occulus rift support.
We have a space trading simulator and politics we can influence and take part in, we have warzones and other factions. Apart from EvE and other older games, there really isn't anything that can match what we have right now on this planet, and it's still only in beta.

All I can positively say is: Frontier Developments - you have nailed it, hook line and sinker.
