What do you mean 'nothing happens'?
I had this exact problem earlier. "Nothing happens" just about sums it up. The menu closes and the NPC behind the counter responds as if the transfer was confirmed, but your ship doesn't start transferring and you don't get charged for it. If you talk to them again, it's as if it never happened.
OP, try dying with a clean criminal record. When I did that, I respawned in my ship, floating outside the prison ship.

Thanks for the reply. I have other ships in the station and do not get the option to Manage Ships, it just goes to the ship transfer screen. I select TRANSFER SHIP TO THIS LOCATION, then select confirm and it returns to the NPC and no money comes from my account. Thanks
Yeah exactly that. What's the best way to do this? I'm stuck at Whitson hub lol
Shuttle over to any anarchy base and get in a gunfight. Or go anywhere and shoot your feet with a rocket launcher.
I've also heard that switching to Horizons might work, but I can't guarantee that.
E: You could also run around any old base standing in people's faces and bounty scanning them. Scanning isn't a crime, and if they have a bounty they'll murder you for rumbling them.

Logging into Horizons will put you in your ship. Just tried Inter Astra and transfer worked - shows the ship is on its way

1) Left my ship and shuttled to another system
2) Died on foot with a bounty
3) Respawned at the prison ship, in my ship, that I'd previously left behind
4) Jumped out, got a Black Adder error
5) Respawned at the prison ship on foot
6) Summoned the ship back to the prison ship, shuttled back out
7) Tried to summon my ship to the place I arrived at, couldn't. Uh-oh
E: AHA. I just docked at another station, disembarked, and couldn't go back to my bay because my ship was impounded. I think that might be the problem - at some point in all those prison ship shenanigans, an impound fee was placed on the ship, but the game didn't present the UI for paying it.
