Console Profile Copy Process | Release Plan

Some question, I’ve read that the Xbox controller mapping is a one to one copy from console is this right? So when I plug in a Xbox controller all mechanics works like on Xbox? No new mapping? Or are there some functions which must be mapped at all?

Because at the moment on mouse and keyboard, the game feels weird for me (as an console player) I missed the simple controller inputs

You should be able to plug in your Xbox controller to the computer, and it works almost exactly the same as it did on Xbox. That's all I did. Some things needed to be mapped/remapped, as they're different on PC. But the ship controls are identical, walking is intuitive, and the SRV's are a little bit different and may need some remapping for personal preferences.

IIRC you might need to connect the XB controller using the proprietary wireless dongle - on Bluetooth might not work as good
Or so i remember reading - might not be valid these days...

personally i have used the xb controller only got a pretty good tweak on the binds its like 85% stock but you dont use alt control mode for the laterals , also swap ship lights and silent running to avoid losing your shield when you fa off boost bleed

I’ve read this to, when I would like to play wireless I need this dongle, but for me I had no problems with a constant wire connections. It was already my plan to connect the controller with normal wire.

I didn't have to do anything like that. Just plug and play with my Series S controller. And they have Bluetooth built in.

That being said though, I'd recommend a Powera Enhanced Wired/Wireless controller. Works exactly the same as the Xbox controller plus extra buttons! The new Series X/S controllers have a known issue with stick drift, it's happened twice to me already on two different controllers. But my Powera Enhanced has never failed me.

i dont have a dongle it just works if you use the next gen controller this is the one with the extra share button
This exactly. On the new gen controllers, just hold the main power button on the front (the giant X) and the "connect" button on top together for 6 seconds. The giant X will blink rapidly to tell you its in Bluetooth pairing mode. Then just pair it with your Windows PC as you would any other Bluetooth device!

Well, i guess i will have to try it myself.

On PC i play exclusively with kb/m

But on XB i use an Elite Controller (the White version of Elite1 controller - which is running strong, no drifting, no peeling, since april 2019 for like 3000h of Elite play).
IIRC this version works only on cable or the proprietary wireless dongle.

I also have 2 XB One S controllers which (IIRC) have bluetooth, but i cannot really go back to play with the normal controllers.

yeah i love the paddles on the back on my v2 elite i use for the XB

USB for controllers is built in but Bluetooth compliance is random per Blue tooth card maker controller and is not insured...

Xbox one and one X controllers Used Wifi direct for a long time and were not bluetooth enabled so "Needed" a USB conversion dongle...
Wifi direct supports More devices over the same transceiver than Blue tooth so was a short cut taken..
Later revision of controller returned Bluetooth usage...

DS4 never went Wifi direct an remained Bluetooth all its life...

The "Default context" option in the options is the Console layout for controllers from console with Keyboard duplicates press and Hold the face buttons to get on screen pop up for the combos...

I first enjoyed playing ED on the PC with a PS2 controller!

I find I play with this on PC and PS4 (when batteries low) as it's pretty much plug and play:

NB Other retailers are available

I did it with the PS4 controller for a while with - ah I remember - ds4windows was the app. But I just prefer this way now.

I've just submitted my transfer ticket, but of course I have said that the offer might not be ready yet, or for a while.
