As humanity is now under attack have................

the requirements to unlock the guardian bug hunter weapons been relaxed at all?

it just seems a little "gamey" to me to have people under attack, and yet people with a stock of guardian weaponry which could be used to defend them refused to hand them out to capable pilots because they have not ticked the boxes.

Not bothered either way tbh just thinking aloud really that it seems a bit daft if they havent change that.
Thanks.

Did you miss out on the Mbooni permit again?
lol no i have it.... well i assume i do, i have not logged in after hitting the CG. but i was under the impression you still needed materials for that. either way tho, my same thinking works for permit locked systems as well... you would think it would be all hands on deck and these weapons should be in max production now for everyone ***

***from a role play point and logical of view.............. I do get the balancing act of not trying to enrage players who spent hrs gathering the stuff.

What free weapons? And how do you think the arms industry got where it is today? Not by giving away their kit for free. In fact, with increased demand for AX weapons, the prices should go up. Free market and such. Weapons manufacturing is not a charity. You need weapons, pay up or die. Always been that way.

this would be true if it was a fight between humans... but it isnt, it is a fight of a technologically superior alien race against humanity. I dont think we have an example of this in the real world arms industry but i am fairly confident IF it happened, anyone capable and willing to take the fight to the aliens i think would be given the tools to defend their race and every factory capable would be churning out the weapons.

Spitfire pilots did not have to buy their own Spitfires ... but equally they didn't own them ... so at the very least, if humanity were under attack, you would think the weapons would be loaned to pilots in order to aid the defence?!

Spitfire pilots did not have to buy their own Spitfires ...
not meaning to sink my own argument but whilst the pilots didnt, iirc we only finished off paying our debt to the US a few years ago.... but again this was a skirmish among our own species.

Ha ha - true, war debts do go on a bit ... but the government (so Federation / Empire in ED world) took out the loans and provided equipment ... no one had to go collect 12 trees, 117 Goose Feathers and an old ship propeller in order for some bloke in Surrey (who requires 3 bottles of French whiskey before he'll talk to you) to build the sodding things!!

You can't expect the devs to remove the mind numbing grind, get real.
The bubble will go up in a puff of smoke and the grind will still infest the game, that's how dumb this is, lol.

The blueprints are the boring bits as it requires the SRV not ship and they allready reduced the values needed to get the items allready...
The current values are the reduced units needed... they were higher before... they wont adust it again as thats on 3.8 code base not EDO pay for DLC..

I mean, that's true, but you have to consider the counter-argument: what if the Thargoids aren't an extinction-level threat - or at least, not within the lifetime of the current CEO - and are instead just going to blow up a few systems and then back off like last time? Then the companies would be leaving huge amounts of potential profit on the table by giving the weapons away, and all for nothing.

Ah but what if it is an extinction event and as Op said were left with our pants down Cos gazillions of cmdrs haven't unlocked the grindwall

The guardian weapons that are no longer effective?

Reminds me of the trope where a merchant will not give a powerful weapon to the hero to defeat the final boss even if it means the end of the world.
Reminds me of the trope where governments continued to let companies sell cancer sticks even though people were dying and sell leaded fuel even though there was a clear link between violence and lead affected brain development and supporting fossil fuel industries when the world is alternating between burning down and drowning. ;)

Sort of like the government refusing to support green energy development and subsidising fossil fuel industries while the world overheats? Yes, I live in Australia!

Well at least Scott Morrison is out of the picture now. I'm not sure how well Anthony will do, but from what I gather about ScoMo, anything is an upgrade.

You can go out and collect one weapon blueprint, a handful of tech components and power cells to unlock medium gauss, then just put four of them on a krait. If that takes you "hours" you are doing something wrong.
