Well, they said 3.8 would receive maintenance updates but unless I missed it new content would be for the 4.0 codebase. So no, any new ship added to Ody would not work on 3.8 unless they made a specific allowance for that to be added. That would be my understanding, but I could be wrong

By going through the hassle of giving you a completely free update just because some people are too cheap to buy an expansion for a game they are playing since 8 years. Clearly shows how evil they are.
His GPU is 6 years old. I am playing Odyssey at 90 FPS on 1440p/ultra with my 2 years old hardware. The game should run better but if it doesn't run it's a clear sign that the hardware is outdated. I think they should make use of todays technology rather than sticking to the past.
Nobody forces you to be here. If you want to change FDEV and the game it's probably best if we all leave and play a better space game. Maybe that way they realise they need to 'do better'. Problem is, there is no better space game. Apparently it's very difficult to make a better space game which suggests FDEV are (legitimate criticism aside) actually doing a pretty good job.
Oh dude, did you not read the small print only those with gigabit can use the 4.0 codebase and 600mb have to use 3.8 codebase lol
Thargoids are due to attack the Colonia area with on-foot soldier arachnids. A new engineer has emerged who can modify weapons/suits for xeno combat.
Improved leg fizzer damage: primary weapon. Cuts the legs from out under them. Requires 10 x AX combat logs, 5 weapon schematics, 5 g-meds and 5 x chemical weapons.
Fear and flight impulse removal: suit. Removes soiled hose impact in Thargoid fights. Requires 10 x xeno defence plans, 150 g-meds, 200 x Push and 10x genetic repair meds.

As long as that ship exists in 3.8 (no new exclusive ships in 4.0) then yes. what you'll be missing out on in 3.8 are the new Narrative features, new planetary tech, new UI etc. You'll still get the CGs (where appropriate), Galnet News and any patches to make sure it still works with the existing Backend servers.
BTW, In 4.0/Odyssey if you have the scorpion in your ship and you flip over to 3.8. Do you just have an empty SRV bay?
