From when I installed the game there is one thing that I can't really digest, this is how Stations appear when coming out from SC, they just po(o)p out from nowhere.


Sorry I wrote "why system jumping." instead of "while system jumping.":eek::D:(

It would be great if the destination lock had a similar transition to hyperspace exit where your target zooms into view. This is easy enough to imagine for stations, but at ring systems it might be tricky to smoothly transition the particles visible in supercruise into the big rocks visible in normal flight.

Strangely enough, now I am playing the game the popup station doesn't really bother me. Used to watch streams and youtube vids and stare in horror as I watched the cockpit shudder for a few minutes before the station appears. In solo mode the longest I have waited is two seconds.

Anyway, to answer your question.. We should at the very least have the station come into view like the stars on hyperspace exit. The fact that the station popping hasn't changed at all makes me fear it will be the same by release. Fingers also crossed that OFFLINE mode will fix all these little gripes, most of my time will be offline or private group unless a massive change to network stability occurs in the next few months. Can you imagine what the servers will be like when Jo public get their hands on this game?

In offline I really wish back the Time Acc/Dreamchaser...but that will never happens...:(
 
A zoom in of the station like the star does would look great I think (with the nearby planet in the background not moving since we're already pretty slow compared to the speed at which we arrive at the star after a jump).
Somehow I've grown accustomed to the stations appearing, however the rings look extremely bad IMO. Especially since you can actually see them in SC, then they disappear during loading, then the rocks suddenly appear. A zoom in effect would also be great here, along with a bright flash that would hide the models transition as the low res rocks are replaced by the high res ones we see when we're close.

To be honest it would be sad if the final version was released like that, this transition (or lack thereof) really feels unfinished. I'm hopeful this has already been fixed for the gamma build :)
 
I would love to see the station zoom into view in the same way as it happens with the star after a hyperspace jump. I don't mind the station popping into existence, but it would certainly be much cooler. Plus, nothing conveys visceral feeling of just how much power the FSD has better than that.
 
Voted for the zoom effect. But the space station do not always have to be locaed in front of you after super cruise - IMHO.

Sometimes shooting past the spacestaion when disengaging sc could be awesome.
 
I'd love to see a station zoom in like a star as I drop out of supercruise.

make the drop out distance user dependent. 8km is too close.

Back in premium beta, distance was 20km, and you could jump in closer if you timed it right. Current distance is because too many people complained that it took too long to dock... especially with all the player-killers hanging around just outside the "no fire zone."
 
Voted for Zoom too. I don't mind the actual action, as we are actually bursting out of SC and it could indeed be fast enough to make it impossible to see the station at a distance. If it was to stay that way, I won't lose sleep over it. But it's true that a little cosmetic here and there never hurt, especially in that sort of game.
 
i miss the option 'Zoom & spawn farther away'

I stil get a cramped feeling spawning so close, not to mention i nearly crashed a few times by spawning at the backend of a Orbis station and nearly crashing into the solarpanels ........
 
I voted farther away. Guess that is unpopular, hah.

I'd like 25-30 km out. However, I'd want that with a bit more going on around the stations.

Drop us further away because at the moment it's pretty boring to know you will drop so close to the station. There is no risk of a blockade is there because you are only one or two boosts from the station.
