FC Route planner

G'Day Commanders,

I know there are some 3rd party tools that will somewhat simulate this but why does the in game FC galaxy map not allow a prolonged routeing beyond 500ly?

or, is there a way to do this I'm unaware of... I am prone to being quite unaware at times.

Moving the cursor 500ly every time and trying to find a system is a huge PitA$$

Maybe because a carrier can jump without a commander being on board or even logged on
And maybe because they want Carriers to be driven step by step to their destination instead of roaming on their own like bots

no, there is no way in game

Sorry for the misunderstanding...
I don't want an auto pilot, I'd like the route to stay planned so that when I arrive I can start the carrier up again after the alotted cool down period, refueling, honking, scanning etc...

Without... going back into the galaxy map and scrolling all over the place again trying to find the 500 ly mark in the general direction Im traveling and/or having the map reset me back to the carrier where I have to svroll all over again to find the system I had just targeted.

Again, not looking for an auto pilot, simply an efficient way of plotting the route one time in the galaxy map and keeping those jumps in, in a similar manner as the one in our personal ships.

with the wobblyness of the galaxy map this would be nice indeed. I tend to use the wasdrf buttons to move around because using the mouse is a whole dimension of self inflicted physical and emotional pain. As a note I use the mouse and mousebuttons for moving around in every other game I play

I mean why isn't this a thing (?). The availability is clearly and evidently there, as used in our personal ship routing. I am no sofa-programmer, but is it not the same?

Thanks, I knew I wasn't "completely" crazy here. I agree that it would seem to stand that if it's possible in ships it should be a thing in the FC but then again, Im no programmer either.

From what i read, back in the days our ships didnt have a route plotter either.
So maybe one day we will get a route plotter for carriers too

I can't even remember that way back lol Started playing late beta I think, when we only had a mini-bubble to play in.
But atleast I remember there was a pretty tight limit on how far

So, yes, hopefully this is TBA/TBC

I guess we get spoiled as we go, now that I think back to before landing on planets, auto dock, before engineers... guess we've come a long ways.

I'd like to take this opportunity to remind people, that Frontier have made their stance on carrier jump automation very clear.

I do realise the OP was not asking for that.
